ali bradshaw reviewed: Furniture painting workshop with Annie Sloan chalk paint

"What a lovely, social, tasty, educational and interesting course ! I think I had an outdated view on painted furniture, and thought I knew how to do it, but after this course I felt so inspired that I made a pinterest board on it, and had dreams of setting up a painted furniture business. Didn't realise Annie Sloan paint was so applicable to so many different surfaces, that got the creative juices flowing - a sofa maybe ! The group was a perfect size and feel, small enough to feel you can ask questions and go over something again. And Lucy was mega friendly, helpful and insightful. So lovely. Would recommend the course for sure. x"

Helen Mitchell reviewed: Glass fusing class - powders and enamels

"Bought vouchers for me and my friend for her 50th birthday. We had such a fantastic day. We both love crafts and it was great to do something new together, and Jo had something to keep for her birthday. As you get to keep all your practice pieces, I made a picture out of the Christmas tree piece that was on the wall over Christmas, bringing back great memories. Will definitely go to another class when I can as Sarah is a great teacher. Thank you"

Sally reviewed: Hand-stitched leather tote, satchel or messenger bag course

"A fantastic and hugely enjoyable weekend. Gaynor, Elizabeth and Hannah guided us through all the processes with clear instructions, endless patience and always a smile. The setting, wonderful log burner and of course, the cakes all added to the experience. The final product was a beautiful leather satchel, much admired already.... Thank you again."

Jill Kerby reviewed: Art classes - sculpture

"I have been studying with Ivan for many years and continue to find inspiration and a sense of my artist self not always present in my daily life. Ivan's intuitive ability to help you find the ideas that you want to pursue enable you to produce diverse and fascination pieces of work that you didn't know you were capable of."

Owen Williams reviewed: One day stained glass classes by Le Breton Traditional

"The ancient art of stained glass is something I've wanted to learn about for a long time. I've bought a book or two and watched the odd You tube video but when Matt asked if I wanted to attend one of his workshops I jumped at the chance. I've now completed 2 workshops with Matt and thanks to his help, expertise and patience I've actually managed to complete 2 pieces of stained glass and I'm really pleased with them. The techniques and tricks I learned from Matt would have taken me a frustratingly long time to learn from books and the internet. There is nothing like one-to-one tuition with constant guidance and advice throughout the whole process from an experienced craftsman. Thank you so much Matt, I can't wait till the next workshop. Owen"

June Pickard reviewed: Art classes - sculpture

"I have attended Ivan Daggett's sculpture classes for many years and find Ivan an excellent tutor. He has the ability to draw ideas from you without forcing you to his copy his own way of working. He is a very talented sculptor and can give guidance on the great variety of materials that can be used for sculpture. During my time attending his classes I have carved stone, wood and plaster, modelled with clay and worked with wire, both in abstract and human form.5"

James G reviewed: Blacksmithing Experience Day

"I had a day on the course given to me as a Christmas present and what a good present it was. Within half an hour of getting there you are already stuck in to making. Colin teaches you how to make a variety of different items (coat hooks, letter opener, wine glass holder, axe head are what I got to make on the day I went) and he is happy to share his experience as well as his knowledge in black smithing. Overall the day is value for money and if you get given the chance to go to the Ox House Forge you won't be disappointed."

Helen Twite reviewed: Willow sculpture weaving hares courses at Greenwood Days

"I attended the beginners basket weaving class in July 2016; arrival in this beautiful and peaceful location got us all in the mood for 2 days’ of focussed but relaxed apprenticeship in the amazing art of basketry. Through practical application, a small class got to grips with the basics of willow weaving, making good progress on our first basket by the end of the first day. Day 2 gave us the chance to hone our newly discovered skills on a second piece. An inspirational tutor, Tom Hare gave us the confidence to complete some genuinely useful projects as well as sharing with us some insights into his own amazing sculptures. I am reminded of the course, every time I use my baskets which take pride of place at home and I keep dropping hints to Father Christmas for the chance to attend a follow up course!"

Karen reviewed: Beginners paper cutting session at MAKE, Portsmouth in Hampshire

"I decided to attend this course after seeing the amazing results that one of my friends achieved in just one afternoon, and I am so happy that I did! I brought another friend along and we had a really lovely afternoon with Aimee, who is so talented, encouraging, relaxed and funny - you couldn't ask for a better teacher. The 3 hrs flew by, we had a lovely piece of cake mid-way and by the end we had mastered some basic skills and turned out a super paper cut to take home. The price also includes another template for you to work on at home plus the scalpel and cutting mat - really great value. I'd highly recommend this as a perfect way to start. :-)"
