Annette Lewis reviewed: Amazing Raku - Japanese pottery firing with Flames & Smoke - half day workshop with Bob and Denise Park at Quirky Workshops, Greystoke Craft Garden & Barns, Cumbria

"A great day making some surprisingly lovely things! Dave was great fun, providing clear instructions and sharing his experience. He allowed us to be as hands on, or off, as we wanted, with lots of opportunities to learn & practice each stage of the process. Annie's hospitality was wonderful, with a delicious lunch, scones, biscuits and copious amounts of tea. Thank you!"

Lucie reviewed: Fused Glass Workshops for beginners & experienced

"The glass fusion workshops are simply fantastic! Ali is extremely helpful as she guides you through the process of creating your very own and unique piece of glass art! The workshop takes place in Ali's treasure trove of glass wonders, all of which help to inspire. You can simply arrive and there are many ideas already at your fingertips. I know people worry about not being 'creative', well with Ali's superb guidance (and patience!) it really is something that anyone can have a go at, and be pleased with the outcome. My two children have experienced this too and have been so proud of what they have created. We have given some of our pieces as gifts and had the recipients ask "Where did you buy that from, it's brilliant!" What a great feeling to know it was made by our own fair hands! Go on... have a go, you won't regret it!"

Nicky Walters reviewed: Advanced Guided Wire Pendant Design Workshop with Lonely Soldier Designs

"I have been making jewellery for several years and have taught wirework and beginner silver jewellery courses myself, but I learnt many new things on this workshop. New skills, shortcuts, equipment tips and weaving techniques. Jim (Lonely Soldier Designs) is a patient, and inspiring tutor. Clear written worksheets also support you on the course but leave room for you to develop your own style within the tutorial."

Romana reviewed: Denim jeans - be the designer!

"I brought a pair of old jeans and I learned how to make a new pattern from them. Then we made a brand new pair of jeans from that pattern. I learnt lots and lots of tricks of a trade,I got to use industrial beautiful Singer machine, I also learnt how to use overlocker. I designed my new jeans with fantastic help of Angela (course provider). It's one to one tutorial where you learn about denim industry from Angela, who has years and years of experiance working with denim. You take the paper pattern home and can then make many more pairs of jeans. We run out of time due to my excitement and talking too much but Angela kindly invited me back to finish the garment and to learn so much more free of charge. The workshop is a fascinating place with interesting collections of various craft materials, tools, manequins and vintage denim clothing. Its a real craft retreat. Friendly, welcoming, quirky. I would definitely recommend to spend a day with Angela and listen to her fascinating stories and to learn heaps and heaps."

Fred Mollison reviewed: Traditional Saddle Stitching with Armitage Leather

"This is my second course with Nigel Armitage covering various techniques in leather craft. Namely box stitching, knife sheath templating, rolled edging and piping. A lot to get though in three days. Nigel planned and delivered an excellent instructional package in all of these tasks, allowing me to gain knowledge and heighten my skill level. Giving me the confidence to tackle these projects. He is a credit to his chosen profession and has a obvious passion not only for leather craft, by delivering an excellent standard of instruction at a level gear to the individual under instruction. I would highly recommend anyone interested in this craft to get in touch with him and discuss there needs, as he is only to happy to spent time on the phone, ensuring you get an understanding of your requirements. Thank you Nigel."

"I am so happy to leave a review for you Ghia. I went to one of your Christmas workshops in Bideford last year and just had the best day ever. I would never have believed I could make three angels and a decorated tree to hang on my own Christmas tree. I look forward to taking another class so I can increase my collection of angels."

Nicola Dew reviewed: Introduction to Spoon Carving

"Thank you for a really enjoyable day in your woodland setting. It was a very hot day and apart from a delicious lunch, there was a welcome supply of iced drinks and ice cream throughout. Chris explained and demonstrated each step carefully. He was very patient and hands on in providing individual tuition and encouragement. There was a range of tools to try out: this was really helpful as we all had different favourites. And I came home with a spoon-very satisfying and as Chris will tell you, it is addictive!"

Kay Newman reviewed: Advanced Guided Wire Pendant Design Workshop with Lonely Soldier Designs

"Cannot recommend this course enough. It teaches techniques that I haven't see anywhere else, and also encourages you to come up with your own designs. The initial premise of the pendant is not too complicated for those familiar with coils, basic soldering and weaving, but with your imagination, and the readily available support of Jim (Lonely Soldier Designs) there is no limit to the type of pendants that you can make. Even if you haven't done any soldering before, this is your chance to learn to make a simple claw setting for a cabochon. The course is also a great opportunity to meet other like minded people who love to create with wire."

"Highly recommended. I had the best time on this course as well as the beginners. Ciaran is such a great teacher. He explains everything you need to know. He makes the course fun and ensures you perform to the best of your abilities so you walk away proud of the piece you have made. Look no further. If you want to improve on your existing woodworking skills, do this course, you will not be disappointed. Big thank you to Ciaran. I can't believe that only three months ago I couldn't even saw!
