Frances reviewed: Introduction to Sourdough Bread Making class

"I recently had the pleasure of attending a breadmaking course run by Ian and Michael, and it was nothing short of amazing! From the moment I arrived at their beautiful home, I knew I was in for a treat. The setting alone made the experience so special—an inviting, cosy atmosphere that made you feel right at home. They are both incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about baking and we were through every step of the process with ease, explaining the science behind the ingredients and techniques. An absolute highlight of the day was lunch! Not only did we get to enjoy a spread of freshly baked bread, but they had prepared a feast that perfectly complemented the bread and had me going back for seconds and thirds! Ian and Michael were incredible hosts, and their love for baking truly shone through. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned baker, this course is a fantastic way to learn and enjoy the craft of baking. Oh, and don’t forget to give their dogs some love—they’re as wonderful as the bread!"

Jo was thorough, touched on key techniques and, had boards for practicing and testing techniques which was one of the most helpful things for me! She’s a gem a of person, always there to guide and was very supportive when we got round to painting our piece of furniture! Julie and Martin Strudwick reviewed: Beginners 1-day pairs pottery / ceramics workshop

"We have just had the most wonderful enjoyable and relaxing day with Louise on a pairs days pottery course. Louise and Simon were both so welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole day, though the time flew by so quickly. My favourite things were the hand built items - the pinch pots, coiled pots and slab built pots but I was also excited to be able to try throwing a pot on the potters wheel. Throwing on the wheel was not my forte certainly much harder than I thought it would be but I was pleased to have tried. My husband did so much better at throwing on the wheel than I did! We were kept fuelled with cups of tea and biscuits and a delicious lunch in their lovely warm kitchen. I cannot wait to see our pots when they have been glazed and fired - hope the kiln gods are kind. Looking forward to returning to try something else. "

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"What a lovely review guys - thank you so much! It was great having you both in the studio for the day and just wonderful that you enjoyed it so much. It's often the way that one person takes to the wheel quicker than the other, but I'd say you really found your niche with the beautiful slab work Julie :-). Thank you again for the lovely review and I'll be in touch when your creations have been glazed and fired."

Vicky Gaillard reviewed: Introduction to Woodworking Weekend - Cambridgeshire

"I had a brilliant two days. I love the phone stand I made but worth more than any of that is the legacy of insights Bill shared … why when I do simple DIY projects they feel harder than they need to be … well it’s because no one had ever told me some really basic things (and I’d never thought of them). Bill filled in lots of gaps in my knowledge in a fun and friendly way. His workshop is a joy to behold so carefully and beautifully put together the two days gave me far more than just skills and a product but also inspiration. Thank you Bill. "

Craven Conservation and Restoration Ltd responded:

"Thank you so much to you both for taking the time to attend and also to then do a review, much appreciated. I am glad you enjoyed your time at my workshop and look forward to hopefully welcoming you back soon. Thank you. "

Lynn Constable reviewed: Enter the world of Pyrography with Bob Neill

"I enjoyed a wonderful introduction to the craft of pyrography thanks to Bob’s experience and tuition. I loved learning in a real craftsman’s space, with all my senses immersed in the craft. Bob and his wife Del were welcoming and great company. A lush lunch in their own home included a sneaky surprise that was informative and fun! This craft is something I’ve wanted to explore for a long time because I love wood, and I was definitely inspired to continue by Bob’s knowledge imparted during the course. Really recommend this course. Thank you both. "
