"I took the cabochon cutting and faceting course which was to take place over 2 days and James very kindly fit it all into one day as I was travelling from London. As an absolute beginner, James was very patient in answering all my questions! He is very knowledgeable and I really enjoyed learning how to cut gems. I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone interested in learning about gem cutting!"

His gentle approach, encouraging us to have a go, and helping as needed made it a satisfying experience for me as I am a complete novice. "We had been looking for a glass workshop for some time and I was delighted with this treat from my daughter for my birthday. Melanie was not only a great teacher but a fantastic host too! The supply of tea and biscuits was very welcome and the cake was delicious. Melanie’s studio is the perfect setting for a creative and relaxing workshop. She explained everything clearly and patiently. There was plenty of time to complete three pieces of fusion glass. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a chilled out space and a chance to get crafty! Thank you."

"I did this course recently and it was worth every penny; the love and passion Emily has shines through. This was SUCH a great workshop. Emily was patient and kind, enthusiastic supportive and SO knowledgeable. I was shocked to learn some of the ways I thought I'd been sustainable really weren't, and Emily was so supportive in how we could do better going forward. I also loved the opportunity to make my own ring. I came away with a much bigger appreciation for what goes into jewellery. I'd recommend this course highly!"

"This was my 1st time trying whittling and I loved it. It was organized as a birthday present. Matt was really good at explaining the techniques and made the course a great experience. The only downside was that the 2.5 hours disappeared so quickly. I'd have been happy to sit there all day. I am definitely thinking about booking a day experience on the back of this course. The setting is relaxing and the safety advice was good and practical. This is definitely a hobby that anyone could pick up. Thanks to Matt and Emma for a great course."

"I was excited by the idea of carving a spoon and this course was great, despite this being my first experience of wood carving. Jack is a really good teacher, clear and patient, knowledgeable about technique and also how to use the tools safely. The setting in Steeky Meadow is beautiful and relaxing. We sat in the sunshine, but there was a spacious shelter that could have been used had the weather been less kind. A really enjoyable session and a self-made spoon to take home- thoroughly recommended."

"My daughter and I had a great day making jewellery with Mark. We must have had a go at at least 12 different processes, which was so interesting. We both made a ring in the morning and then my daughter made a bangle and I made a pendant. Honestly, and surprisingly, people would pay good money for what we made! Mark was a very good teacher, very calm and encouraging. A thoroughly enjoyable day. My only suggestion is that you work out exactly where the house is within the village before you leave home as it isn’t easy to find once you get there and there was zero signal in the village! I asked someone for directions though, so all was well. "

"I recently attended the Explore drawing, print and Collage course and would thoroughly recommend it. Alison is a very skilled artist and designer and went through a range of techniques during the day. We made a collection of different patterns and images and then used these to build up different collages. The studio was a beautiful light and creative space- a perfect setting for Alison’s warm and generous teaching style. I stayed in one of the Shepherd’s Hut on the farm so only had a short walk to the barn for the course. My partner had a lovely day locally while I did the course. I know we will be back. "
