This is a needle felting kit that is aimed at people who have felted before and consider themselves to be at an intermediate to advanced level. This is quite an involved project and may take a number of sessions to complete.
The kit provides a basic template to make a wyvern that can be modified into your own design. The kit contains enough wool to make one wyvern as described in the instructions. All the polymer clay spikes and claws are hand made by myself and may vary slightly in size and colour. You are encouraged to make the wyvern your own and add modifications or materials as you see fit. You could also turn this into a full dragon rather than a wyvern by designing your own front limbs once you have finished the kit.
There is a choice of a full kit which contains felting needles and a sponge to felt onto or a smaller partial kit which just contains the wool and instructions (the partial kit is listed separately). This listing is for the full kit.
The wyverns come in a choice of three different colours - Black and red, green and purple or white and blue. I am also happy to offer custom colours if you had something else in mind. You will need to choose a main colour (top half of the wyvern) and a secondary colour (underbelly and wings). Just send me a message to tell me what colours you would like. I will select a complimentary coloured pair of eyes and horns/spikes for you.
Due to the sharp needles, these are suggested for adult use. The resulting makes are intended as decorative fibre art sculptures and not to be used as toys.
All designs used in kits are the intellectual property of Roly Poly Ponies/Natalie Harris and are for personal use only. Reproduction of the instructions or conducting workshops using them is not permitted.
The full kit contains:
Pipe cleaners and wire to construct your armature
Coloured wool slivers (body colours)
Felt wings and tail fin
Ready made polymer clay curved spikes(8), long spikes (4), horns(2), claws(6) and teeth(10).
Postage is included in the price.
In addition to the kit you will need some glue suitable for textile use, electrical tape, an awl or skewer and a pair of scissors.
