Due to current Covid 19 restrictions we will not be able to run any face to face workshops until further notice.
Once restrictions are lifted we will be offering workshops for small groups sizes and also bespoke workshops if you have a group of 3 or 4 people who would like to learn in a suitable space at your home.
Willow weaving is a traditional skill that has evolved over centuries. Our workshops, give you a chance to learn different weaving techniques and build confidence to be creative in the items you make - for garden and home. Each workshop focuses on a specific technique and helps you gain confidence and skill in working with this wonderful natural material. Workshop themes follow the seasons from spring plant supports, summer gathering baskets to Christmas gifts and decorations.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
Small group sessions mean that there is time to give individual attention and instruction. The aim is that everyone has a successful and creative experience learning how to work with willow and build up their skills.
Most of the willow used is home grown and when possible we introduce other natural materials.
All materials and simple tools required are supplied.

Cathy is an excellent tutor and gave really good direction for each step of our willow weaving project for the morning.
The day started off well with a lovely warm welcome and this made us feel so very much at home. Not only did we get to choose what we'd like to make, there were many opportunities to customise our offerings. I made a fish on a rod and my partner made a Catalan tension platter. Cathy was on hand at each stage of our work ready to demonstrate and advise, with just the right balance of help and autonomy. Her knowledge of willow and skill of her craft were very much apparent and she is a very agreeable and interesting host.
We were also treated to a range of hot and cold beverages and delicious homemade cake.
I'd highly recommend booking on one of these workshops.
Due to Covid there were numerous date changes, but all the admin for this was dealt with most efficiently and I was kept well informed.
Response from More than Willow:Thank you Joy it was a pleasure to meet and work with you both.
A very informative and relaxing way to spend a Saturday morning. My initial nerves of trying something new soon diminished, with the gentle instruction and guidance from Cathy. Before long our small group was happily weaving away, stopping only for delicious home-made cakes and biscuits. It was lovely to meet new people and learn new skills. I left with a substantial willow tree-skirt that was greatly admired over the Christmas period. Looking forward to signing up for another course in Spring.
I really enjoyed the course. I liked being in a small group as this meant that there was plenty of help available when needed. There were plenty of materials to choose from and it was good that all equipment was provided. The project was easily achievable in the time available and it was very satisfying to return home with a beautiful item. The refreshments were also excellent.
Response from More than Willow:Thank you Jackie it was a real pleasure to work with you and I am so pleased you enjoyed it too! Hope to see you again in 2019.
