Tube and flush set jewellery workshop

Description

This is a skills based workshop where you will learn everything you need to make your own pieces. A pre-made pendant in which you will flush set a stone and a pre-made ring for you to attach your tube setting to will be provided. Most of this workshop will be spent practicing making the settings with some time at the end being used to create two pieces to take home. We’ll guide you through different stone types which are most suitable for tube and flush settings. Then we’ll guide you through the following: - What metal sizes to use when flush setting. - What tube to use for settings. - Creating your own setting tool. - Using a flexshaft to drill and burr a seat. - Buffing and polishing around your settings. - Setting the stones. - How to test your settings. This is a very interactive workshop which is suitable for all students. If you need glasses for reading then you will need bring them on the day, and we also recommend wearing old clothes. You will need to wear closed-toe shoes and tie up long hair. We do not have a strict age limit.

We are a small, independent business offering traditional silversmithing classes using both time-honoured and modern techniques. Our students are made welcome in our cozy studio in Liverpool, or at our pop-up workshops run at carefully selected venues around the country. We offer a wide range of classes, all of which are taught by either Britt or Andrew who are traditional silversmiths. We ensure all of our students are immersed into the captivating world of silversmithing regardless of experience.
