I attended the 2 Day Beginners Saori Weaving course with Amanda and had a wonderful time. I had done a little bit of weaving before but was new to Saori. Right from the beginning Amanda made me feel relaxed and excited to learn. Her teaching style is relaxed and knowledgable. She had lots of examples for inspiration. She provided all the equipment needed which was all a high standard and a lovely selection of yards and treasures to experiment with. It was lovely to spend this time with like-minded people where the emphasis was on creating from the heart rather than the head. There are a few guidelines but no rules to Saori weaving so when we asked, is this right? Amanda would guide us to give it a try and see what happened and we were rewarded with producing individual and interesting art. I am now totally hooked on Saori weaving and have already booked another session with Amanda. I wholly recommend Amanda and this course if you want to give Saori weaving a go.

My time with Amanda and our wonderful group of weavers was the perfect day. A beautiful day in the countryside with lovely people, creating straight from the heart. The day flowed effortlessly and Amanda was always on hand to offer advice, history and other titbits of knowledge about the world of Saori.

The spirit of Saori was in every aspect of our day together. Encouragement, peace, tranquillity and unbridled creativity.

I thank Amanda from the bottom of my heart for introducing me to an art that I can be proud of. I hope I can come back again soon!

Response from BEAUTIFULcloth SAORI Studio:

Thank you Clare. I am so happy that you enjoyed your day and fully embraced the 4 principles of SAORI weaving. It was a pleasure to share the joy of SAORI with you and I hope to weave with you again!

A perfect day… I was lost in world of colour, relaxation and mindful creativity. I went home with a beautiful piece of textile art of which I am very proud (and I am a very harsh critic!!) and a real sense of joy. I felt comfortable and well looked after during the day, learning so much in an enjoyable and supportive atmosphere. Amanda shares her knowledge and love of weaving with such warmth and brightness that it is impossible not be inspired.
I enjoyed every moment and can't wait to return... thank you very much!

My journey with SAORI started when I came across weaving work by a a previous student of Amanda's. The beautiful work led me to contacting the student who kindly introduced me to her loom and the magical world of Saori weaving. I contacted Amanda and soon had organised to attend a workshop ran at the Village hall in Napton.
Amanda is a very inspirational teacher and I quickly began to create my own woven cloth. In the lovely colourful surroundings of yarn in the ideal relaxed setting of the village hall.
I own Alpacas and want to incorporate their wool into the loom work. I am so excited to be the owner of a hand made loom which has been made in Japan. I am travelling up to visit Amanda to collect it and spend time with her on her getting to know my loom workshop.
I already have many ideas and am looking forward to my journey ahead.

What a wonderful day at the Saori weaving workshop in Knapton village hall.
Amanda created a great atmosphere with lots of interesting pieces to show us. Lovely books and a myriad of beautiful materials to use.
Amanda's instruction was all clear, inviting and inspirational. The day went like a dream, I could have continued for the weekend.
Having thoroughly enjoyed myself, at the end of the day, I also had a piece of cloth that I am pleased to hang in my hall for a while. Until my next one is made anyway.
I'm certainly booking again, this is a wonderful workshop and suitable for complete beginners like me, or even maybe those with a bit of experience.
Thank you Amanda

If you are looking for a warm welcome with gentle, clear instruction and heaps of encouragement - this day course has it all.
Amanda is a lovely person & a brilliant teacher. Her aim is for you to get the most out of your day & to achieve a piece of work you will be proud to call your own.
I didn’t want to leave & could have happily stayed for the whole weekend - and I am a total novice to both weaving and going on Day courses.
If you are thinking about it - DO IT!
