About the Course
Have fun turning old t-shirts and forgotten favourites into recycled works of art with the age-old skill of rag rugging. In our full day and half day classes you will learn all the skills you will need to be able to make unique rag rugs, cushions and art to spice up your home. Careful though, it’s addictive!
In these workshops, which are run at Crafty Sew & So (in the bustling shopping area of St.Martins Square in the heart of the city centre), you will have the chance to start either a rag rug flower in a half day class or a rag rug, rag rug cushion, rag rug wreath or smaller project in our full day classes.
You will learn:
- How to use the rag rug equipment
- How to work with hessian
- Materials (selecting & preparing)
- How to design for rag rug
- Both rag rugging techniques (loopy & shaggy)
You will be provided with all the materials you need during the class but as the charm of rag rugging is often in the memories attached to old clothes, you're welcome to bring along any of your own clothing you’d like to incorporate, particularly if you have clothing with sentimental value that you'd like to use.
This class is suitable for all levels but do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
This class includes everything you need for your rag rug project but we ask that you bring a packed lunch with you if you're doing a full day workshop. Also included is a free rag rug latch hook to take home with you.
Course dates are flexible; please get in touch for the next available date.
