Rag rug kit for a traditional design
Make a rag rug 75x50cm (30x24in) using your own fabrics and learn the traditional technique of Progging which you can use later for other designs.
What's included in the price?
Full instructions and a 'bodger' rug tool, plus hessian backing with hand drawn vintage design (red diamond called "the devil's eye"- if the devil looked down your chimney he'd see devil in residence, at the hearth, and keep moving).
What you will need
Sharp scissors and some old clothes, or similar, to recycle (like granny did). Woollens wear best for a floor rug.
Jenni has shared traditional rag rug techniques of hooking, progging and plaiting for many years. She believes in re-using, sourcing locally and treading lightly on the planet. Whilst bringing rag rug making into the twenty-first century, Jenni honours the generations of ordinary people who used their cast-off clothing to make warm mats and loves helping people to explore their creativity through such an accessible medium at courses locally and around the country.
