Learn two simple traditional techniques for making hooked or progged rugs. You could make a sampler, a seat mat, or start a rug. If you would like to customise a hessian bag it makes a useful sampler and they make unique gifts. Hooking is used for pictorial detail - a thin strip of fabric is hooked in loops through hessian backing. Progging gives a shaggy surface when small rectangles of fabric are pulled through backing....
