Enjoyable day learning a new skill and different methods to create the rugs and designs. Many thanks. Came away keen to do more. Jenni clearly has many years experience and explained things clearly and nicely.
Response from Jenni's Rag Rugs:Glad you feel keen to do some more - we are keeping the craft alive.
Fun and practical day with lots of inspiring examples and discussion.
Good company and sharing of ideas.
Ragrugs are an excellent was of reusing worn out items with creativity and artistry.
Response from Jenni's Rag Rugs:I enjoyed the company and also look forward to our Darn It! make do and mend, skill sharing day in Ludlow.
Loved learning to prog with Jenni. Good venue, excellent teaching and lots of inspiration and good company
Response from Jenni's Rag Rugs:A good day which I enjoyed too. Looking forward to seeing your seat mat.
Brilliant course, I am really pleased with what I was able to achieve on the day. We learnt the main rag rug making techniques plus had a go at a few other techniques. I love being able to make something useful and creative out of old rags. Jenni was really nice and obviously very skilled.
I'm off to chop up things to make more rugs!
Response from Jenni's Rag Rugs:So glad you enjoyed the day and that you feel pleased to use recycling creatively. I look forward to seeing your finished seat mat (keep on chopping things up....)
A great day rag rugging with Jenni! I learnt lots, and have been able to finish the project at home. And I feel inspired to do more. Jenni gave us information at a good pace, letting us practice the things she taught us. Lots of items on show that she had previously made, giving us inspiration for our own creations. Would recommend the course to anyone.
Response from Jenni's Rag Rugs:Looking forward to seeing your project Ceri, and glad you feel inspired to do more rag rug making. I enjoyed the company on our day workshop.
Jenni’s course on October 23 was excellent. It was a comprehensive introduction to something I knew nothing about. However, I now have the knowledge and confidence to do more pogging and explore with my rags.
Response from Jenni's Rag Rugs:Looking forward to seeing what you create with your rags Audrey. The techniques are so accessible and I enjoyed sharing with you. I am really glad you are inspired to get creative.
Very good , very friendly and welcoming
Response from Jenni's Rag Rugs:So glad you felt welcomed - I certainly enjoy sharing enthusiasm for upcycling and encouraging people to explore their creativity.
I'd thoroughly recommend Jenni's rag rugging course. It was a perfect mix of inspiration and instruction. Lovely, informal atmosphere, with a delicious lunch and lots of tea and coffee to keep the chat flowing. I don't consider myself creative but, under Jenni's tuition, I was really happy with the seat pad I produced. It's such an accessible and addictive craft! Thank you Jenni.
Response from Jenni's Rag Rugs:So glad we were able to go ahead with the workshop and I enjoyed meeting you and sharing some techniques. I hope to see your seat mat and that you are inspired to make more. Happy progging!
Really great workshop day with Jenni. Thoroughly enjoyed making a rag rug and intend to keep doing this at home as a new crafting hobby. Jenni explained all the techniques clearly and showed us examples and ideas and we were able to make progress really quickly. Really delicious lunch provided and cups of tea too. Lots of happy working chat. A lovely day. Thank you.
Response from Jenni's Rag Rugs:I enjoyed sharing techniques and chatting with you. I have made quite a few friends on workshops. Looking forward to seeing your seat mat.
Really enjoyed the day. Jenni explains everything very clearly and she was on hand all day to answer questions. She showed us examples of her work and was very supportive. The group was relatively small, which actually made it even nicer!
Response from Jenni's Rag Rugs:It's easier to help individuals with a small group. I enjoyed the day too with such interesting women who worked hard at their progging and hooking.
Great course very inspirational
This course was exactly as described - a lovely location, excellent lunch and company, and an inspiring and engaging teacher, providing lots of worked examples to provide ideas of what can be done. Thoroughly enjoyed the day, and have since completed my project, and am looking forward to the next one.
Many thanks to Jenni and Lorenzo.
Response from Jenni's Rag Rugs:So glad you enjoyed the day Christine. Do send me a picture of your project which I could share on the students' page of my website - I look forward to seeing it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this course, having wanted to try this craft for some time, but not having the confidence to start by myself. We were a small group and Jenni's relaxed, friendly demeanour made it very easy to learn the various styles of rag-rugging, giving me the confidence I needed to continue this new skill. Also the venue, The Guildhouse, Stanton, was amazing. Made the learning all the more enjoyable !
Response from Jenni's Rag Rugs:I enjoyed the day too. Thanks for your review Pauline and I'd be happy to put a picture of your work on my website. Keep on progging!
I attended a Rag Rug workshop course run by Jenni Stuart-Anderson 5 - 7 April held at Huntlands Farm, so the course and accommodation were at the same place - excellent.
Jenni's teaching and coaching were excellent and has given me the skills to continue with the craft with confidence.
I attended the one day course held by Jenni Stuart-Anderson at the Blue Ginger Gallery, near Malvern on 31 August.
We were shown how to work both techniques and were soon given the chance to have a go ourselves. Were able to see examples of Jenni's work which helped us decide which technique we wanted to attempt first.
The lunch provided by the Blue Ginger Gallery was a lovely home-made soup with freshly baked bread and the course itself took place in the small Summer House which provided a very friendly atmosphere.
I enjoyed the day very much and found it very useful.
Response from Jenni's Rag Rugs:I enjoyed the day too Jackie and I look forward to seeing your finished seat mat photo which I can put on the students' page of my website. Keep on progging!
Jenni's courses are such a treat and so inspirational. This course is set in the most beautiful tranquil location and the lunch is amazing. The course is very well taught and provides the perfect balance of teaching, free practice and individual tuition. Jenni is very helpful but not overbearing or bossy!
This is my second course with Jenni and I have loved both of them. Thank you
Have ever thought about a rag rug making course? Will I can highly recommend jenni's rag rug course it is fantastic. Very clear helpful instructions, with all the necessary equipment provided on the day to get you started. If you become hooked! You can purchase books, DVDs, hessian etc. Set in a great location and to top it all a wonderful lunch cooked by Lorenzo. All in all a great day with an added bonus of coming away with a new skill.
Great Course - I am now hooked and rag rugging away merrily! Jenni's
instructions very clear and tips on how to combine different colours and
weights of textiles helpful. The day flew by and we learned progging as well
as hooked rugs - inspirational !. Setting very pleasant with plenty of light
to work by, congenial company and delicious refreshments, a real treat.
I attended this course to give me ideas for my GCSE Textiles project; I came away from the course with all the knowledge of how to make the rag rugs and full of inspiration for my final piece. Jenni was amazing and very helpful. The venue was easy to find, with lots of parking and the food was delicious. Every one who attended the course was really friendly.
Lovely venue at Trumpet Corner and very friendly course run by Jenni. We were a small group and chatted away to new friends whilst learning all about progging and hooking. Lots of opportunities to ask questions as we tried out techniques using different fabrics. Came away with lots of ideas and more confidence to start a project. Jenni is a real expert and it was a privilege to learn from her experience.
