Rag Rug Making Day in the Cotswolds
Contact course provider
About the Course
Learn two traditional techniques in a day and make a sampler, a seat mat, start a rug or decorate a bag.
Progging consists of pulling small rectangles of fabric through a hessian base to give a shaggy effect. Hooking is used for pictorial projects when thin strips of fabric or yarn are hooked through hessian, preferably on some kind of frame. You can try both techniques or focus on one.
Jenni's teacher made rag rugs for over 50 years and Jenni has enjoyed sharing the craft for years. She has written Rag Rug Making and More Rag Rugs & Recycled Textile Projects.
Stanton Guildhouse overlooks the Vale of Evesham and is on the Cotswold Way. There you can see Ghandi's spinning wheel and the Guildhouse also offers optional b&b.
(Warning - this craft can be addictive!)

Jenni's courses are such a treat and so inspirational. This course is set in the most beautiful tranquil location and the lunch is amazing. The course is very well taught and provides the perfect balance of teaching, free practice and individual tuition. Jenni is very helpful but not overbearing or bossy!
This is my second course with Jenni and I have loved both of them. Thank you

Great Course - I am now hooked and rag rugging away merrily! Jenni's
instructions very clear and tips on how to combine different colours and
weights of textiles helpful. The day flew by and we learned progging as well
