About the Course
Learn how to capture the glorious autumn colours of Epping Forest with your camera on this very user-friendly photography course and achieve interesting photographs of the season's woodland flora and fauna. De-mystify your camera and find out how to take good macro/close-up pictures using different angles. Open to beginners and keen amateurs alike. The afternoon workshop will give the chance to see the results, compare notes and learn how to use Photoshop to present your artwork.
This Photography course runs from 10.00 to 16.00 and includes lunch at a local public house.
About the Tutor:
John Price has worked as a professional photographer throughout his working life. After a degree at art college he worked in publishing, industry, corporate and, for the last 10 years, in conservation as a photographer. His experience includes working with both film and digital photography including design and multimedia. He worked on the 50 Favourite Tree project lead by Countrycare, a division of Epping Forest District Council. Over 4,000 trees have been surveyed and recorded. A book on the project is available in PDF format on the website www.favouritetrees.com which John has designed and photographed. He works with A Vision of Britain CIC developing health and fitness walks, and photographic teaching using video and stills for all ages.

10:45 Stroll in the forest taking photos.
12:00 Pub Lunch
13:00 Classwork incorp. IT/software issues. Second field visit depending on weather.
15:30 Workshop to discuss results
16:00 Course ends
Disclaimer: All timings are approximate. This is an outline programme and may be subject to change according to the weather, requirements of the group or access restrictions to field sites on the day of the course.
What to bring:
Weather appropriate outdoor clothing
camera manual if you have it to hand.
Some classroom sessions but each field site visit will be a few hours long at least and walking through uneven forest terrain in parts.
Health and Safety:
There will be a member of staff with first aid training and access to a first aid kit on site.
If you have special medical requirements please let us know as soon as possible so we can plan the course.

FSC Epping Forest is situated in the heart of Epping Forest and manages the field centre on behalf of the City of London since its opening in 1971. As a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), the forest is nationally important for wildlife and offers a wide range of learning opportunities.
