If you have completed the 'Photography - DSLR introduction' course and wish to explore more of the technical features of your equipment, this course is the next step. Bring your camera to each session or, if you do not have your own, the college has a limited number of cameras but you will need to book one.

Bring your camera to each session or, if you do not have your own, the college has a limited number of cameras but you will need to book one.

What does this course cover
Control exposure by using fully manual settings and use the histogram to assess exposure. Use manual focus and f-stops to control depth of field and achieve sharpness. Control colour casts using white balance settings under different lighting conditions. Take photographs using live view mode. Work with and compare RAW and JPEG file formats.

What will it be like
Demonstration using Smartboard through computer-linked projectors, exposition and discussion. One-to-one and Group work. Through tutor-guidance and hands-on experience, the completion of the course objectives.+ Ongoing monitoring of students' work including questions, observation and tasks. Start and End of class student self-assessment/achievement tick sheet.

What else do you need to buy or do
Your own DSLR camera or book one at Reception when you enrol. As much practice as possible to reinforce learning. This may be at home or elsewhere or from homework given by the tutor.
