Join me to take a deep dive into linocut print making on this day workshop. You will create your own unique linocut print in full colour with this beautiful, accessible medium. You will have the opportunity to learn every step of the process as I share with you what I know, as well as the chance to take inspiration and encouragement from your fellow participants within a small friendly group. I have taught printmaking to beginners for 8 years and have noticed that everybody ( without exception !) leaves not only with several beautiful prints but also with a great sense of achievement and a big boost, if any were needed, to their confidence. It could be the start of your own love affair with linocut printmaking. The VENUE - tranquility and a piece of cake We will spend the day printmaking in the beautiful surroundings of Brathay near Ambleside. There is a river a short stroll away and the calm and peace of woodland all around. There will be a delicious home-made lunch and refreshments provided throughout the day, including home-made soup, bread, and puddings as well as afternoon tea and plenty of cake to keep us energised - all loving prepared by me. About TUTOR and printmaker Laura Sowerby Laura creates intricate botanical prints and handmade wallpaper in linocut from her picturesque studio in the Langdale Fells. Her work has been featured in Country Living, Gardens Illustrated, Country Homes and Interiors and The English Home magazines and has been shown in galleries both locally and nationally. She is a regular exhibitor at Cumbria’s own Printfest and Great Print Exhibitions. She is currently writing a book on botanical linocut for Crowood press. We work with the same quality materials as I use in my own work and the pack will remind you what you used and show you where to get hold of it - valuable knowledge to save you time and money.
