Create your own letterpress stationery

X

Description

Design and create your own letterpress personal or business stationery with local artist and printer Lou Davis.

This full day introduction to creating your own letterpress projects using vintage metal and wood type allows you more time to play with designs to create your own products than our half day letterpress taster options. However, it assumes no previous experience so is still suitable for beginners.

In the morning, you will go through the basics of letterpress printing and learn to set a quote in metal type which we can print onto a bookmark using one of our Adana tabletop presses.

In the afternoon, you'll design our own letterpress projects and Lou will be on hand to offer guidance as you develop your ideas.

There will be a variety of card and paper on hand for you to choose from, including heavyweight colorplan paper from GF Smith in a range of colours; and soft cotton paper which take a small amount of impression and can be torn for a rustic look. You may want to use this as an opportunity to design your own business cards, make party invitations or create your own personalised stationery.

If you have any special requests do get in touch beforehand to make sure we have the right tools and paper for you to complete your project.

All the equipment and materials you will need are included in the price, as are refreshments.

Please note that The Arienas Collective experiences are run from a first-floor space and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Please inform us of any skin or food allergies when booking.

In-person course

Brilliant course, I really enjoyed it. The setting is wonderful and very welcoming. Lou was a great teacher and obviously knew her stuff. There was an amazing choice of cards and type, as well as the 2 lovely presses themselves to use. I love letterpress and I now feel confident about progressing further myself.

Response from The Arienas Collective:

Hello Janet

Thanks for this glowing review :-) I'm so glad you enjoyed your letterpress workshop with Lou, and I hope you will enjoy continuing to get creative with letterpress printing.

With best wishes
Lynn
