About the Course

Come and spend some quality time being shown a selection of basic hand sewing stitches and create a bright, beautiful cockerel needle case in a colourway of your choice to treasure in your sewing box forever or to give away to someone special.

The stitches learned will empower you to tackle other sewing projects. You will be amazed at what you can achieve in this inspiring workshop. Depending on ability and speed, it may take some individuals longer to complete their piece, which can if needed be finished at home.

What you will learn during the workshop;
- Split embroidery yarn;
- Thread a needle and tie a knot the easy way;
- Start and finish neatly;
- Choose fabric to suit your project;
- Prepare and position a pattern making best use of the fabric;
- Cut out fabric to a pattern;
- Position and pin work;
- Sew different types of stitches, including blanket stitch, running stitch and French knots;
- Assemble and join fabric to form a finished object.

This workshop is suitable for;
No previous experience is necessary as you will be shown the skills required to create your beautifully hand-crafted cockerel needle case.
