A day of inky creativity and exploration! Learn the basics of relief and linocut printing. We’ll use the beauty of nature as the starting point for our inspiration as we develop a set of one-of-a-kind monochrome leafy artworks. Who is this for? This one-day printmaking course is designed for everyone, no prior printmaking experience is necessary; all you need is a passion for art and nature, and a desire to learn and experiment. Highlights ⭐ The Magic of Leaf Printing: Learn to capture detailed leaf prints using relief inks and a mini etching press. ⭐ Dive into the world of linocut printmaking. Experiment with textures, patterns and forms. ⭐ Learn the basics of using the tools and how to get the most out of your monochrome design. ⭐ Connect with other tree lovers! Bring A spoon to use as a baron! Several small dried leaves that will fit onto an A5 paper size. (Oak, Sycamore, and Ginkgo work very well.) A drawing or photograph to use as a basis for your linoprint. A bold black and white image / drawing works well. Pens/pencils and paper. Gloves (only if you don’t like to get inky fingers). Something to take your artwork collection home in. Bio Nicky Gibson is a Graphic Designer and printmaker with a love for making things, whether that be in wood, ink, or pixels. She has 27 years experience as a professional designer with work exhibited at the Design Museum and in MoMA in New York.
