About the Course
Just 1 Space left!
Workshop is taught by Textile Artist Julia Triston and is an ideal workshop for those wishing to develop their design skill basics further and really get to grips with using colour in their work. The workshop is all about analysing colour and there will involve practical sketchbook based exercises working with papers, paints and threads. Students will investigate compositions, collages, colour proportions and colour distinctions and will be working at their own pace to develop a range of ‘samples’ which may be used as inspiration for stitched textiles.’
Julia is a member of the The Textile Study Group, Prism textiles, and a Licentiate of Merit with the Society of Designer Craftsmen. Current work is touring the UK in the Textile Study Groups DIS/rupt exhibition. Julia has also written 2 books - "How to be Creative in Textile Art" and "Contemporary Applique".
"The venue and facilities were very good and organisation was superb from start to finish. Over the years, I've been to many, many workshops and this ranks very highly on my list. I'm really looking forward to more top-quality workshops and have already booked one for October."

Julia’s course was good - she is a good tutor and very encouraging to all students regardless of their level of knowledge.
However, the course was well overpriced. The facilities were poor. Similar courses cost less in fully equipped studios.
