Goldwork Elizabethan border


This class is being taught in two evening sessions to allow students to progress with the project. Both sessions will be between 18h00 and 21h00 (British time)
First session: 08th June 2022
Second session: 20th July 2022

This elegant inspired border is embroidered with five Goldwork techniques. You will learn these techniques including couching and essing.

You will be able to couch the passing and learn how to plunge it. You will also develop the technique of stitching the pearl purl.

In the second part of the day, we will work on how to do the essing with gold purl. We will also learn how to make Diamond motifs with a silver smooth purl and how to do the loops to create a flower.

You will feel comfortable using the skills you have learned in Goldwork following this class.

What's included in the price?

This class includes a kit with white duchess satin, smooth and rough gold purls, silver smooth purl, gold passing, very fine pearl purl, needles and bee wax.

Please note that scissors and seat frames are available for students to use and may be purchased if required.

You will need to have a seated frames (8" or 10" wide), pins, embroidery scissors, goldwork scissors, ruler, goldwork pad
