About the Course
Set in the remote, picturesque village of Pont Robert in mid Wales, on a hilltop clearing, surrounded by forest is where the workshop will be held. Bring your own small piece of furniture along to paint and learn from a professional upcycler trained in Annie Sloan’s techniques.
We will briefly go through different paints, different techniques and different preparations that you will be able to choose from for use on your piece of furniture. Then the rest of the day will be dedicated to helping you achieve your desired effect, breathing new life into your item.
Techniques and topics include: Shabby chic, paint washes, two tone painting, crackle glaze, antiquing, dark wax, clear wax, varnish/oil vs wax, gloss/satin paint vs chalk paint, restoration, sanding, preparing the wood, aftercare. We can also cover decoupage, guilding and pyrography if desired.
