Description
I would love for you to join me in our one-day furniture painting workshop in the cosmopolitan town of Cheltenham. During the workshop you will learn how to prepare your furniture piece - no need for stripping, priming or heavy sanding. A range of creative techniques that will include crackling, distressing, stencilling to name but a few and how to protect your finished painted piece. Inspirational ideas and handy tips will also be shared with you. I will go through the benefits of using chalk paint as well as talking about the different brands available on the market. In the morning you will be given the opportunity to experiment and practice on a wooden design board, which you can take home. In the afternoon you will take the plunge and put into practice all that you have learnt on your furniture piece. Our painting workshops are taught in small groups (maximum of 4 people), allowing plenty of time for questions and step by step guidance along the way. You will enjoy meeting new people and learning in a relaxed, friendly environment. This workshop is suitable for beginners and also those who have not painted in a while, looking to refresh on their skills. With over 8 years experience in furniture painting and commissions, I will work with you to create a lovely, upcycled piece of furniture. You bring your chosen piece of small furniture (small table, stool, etc) - if you are unsure on what furniture piece to bring, message me via the Message the tutor button and I'll advise you on this. You'll get to work with chalk paint which is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, virtually odourless and has no volatile organic compounds (VOCs). We will also be running our furniture painting workshops at Whittington Village Hall. If you prefer this location, please book on to this session under the More from this maker section at the bottom of the page.
