About the Course
Dawn Feeney originally started out as a silversmith, gaining a BA hons in Jewellery design and silversmithing at Loughborough, many years ago. While studying, copper was used to make prototypes before making the actual piece in silver and Dawn found the amazing colours and properties of copper very exciting to work with. Copper embossing was the perfect medium to use both her love of sketching and metal working and now exhibits regularly at Galleries and art fairs.
Our workshops have been developed to provide a quiet morning of creativity and gentle tuition and during this half day workshop, first each participant will have a small piece of copper to experiment with, looking at objects and recreating various textures on the metal using a variety of tools and experimenting with enamel paints to highlight the copper.
The techniques learned in the morning will then be used to produce a final em-bossed copper picture approximately 12cm x 12cm which will be mounted and framed for you to take home.
