Pierce sawing workshop

Description

This is a NEW course so come and learn the art of pierce sawing metal with me. I will teach you how to get started with pierce sawing your very own designs. I suggest beginners keep their design simple and bold such as alphabet letters or symbol, but am also happy to support more advanced students. You will also explore a variety of textures for your piece as well as piercing and filing techniques. There'll be an opportunity to practice on scrap metal before starting your project. No soldering needed, good hand-eye coordination is necessary with lots of patience to focus on your piece (also glasses if you usually need them for close up work!). Maximum group of 3 people. The metal we will be using for the workshop will be copper. If you want to work with silver, there will be an additional charge on the day. Please ask before booking so I can order this for you. IMPORTANT - Please arrive promptly at the arranged start time. You are welcome to arrive 10 minutes early. A bit about me: I just love working with all sorts crafts, designing DIY bespoke pieces for the home and I try to upcycle as much as possible to be kinder to our planet and produce beautiful handcrafted bespoke pieces. I studied Art and Design over 25 years ago at my local college, then became a member of the North Staffs Guilds of Craftsmen where I had the opportunity to display my work as well as give demonstrations. I am a fully qualified tutor and am keen to 'boost up' your creative skills in this most enjoyable craft.
