Playing with Fire to Make Copper Jewellery

X

Description

This workshop is a great introduction to the magical, mysterious, centuries old world of metalsmithing. You will find out why fire is an essential ingredient to jewellery making and use it to make a pair of circular and/or domed earrings or a pendant of your chosen combination and size. You will start with a copper sheet and transform this using fire and a variety of silversmithing tools to create a unique set of earrings (or a pendant, if you prefer). Health and Safety is important and I'll give guidelines as to what to wear. A minimum of two people is needed to run the course and there's a maximum of four attendants. You can also book or contact me for an individual place and I'll put you on the waiting list and I'll run the workshop when I have two or more people. Please contact me and we'll arrange a date and time to suit.

For more than 17 years I provide after school art clubs and I still love it, but I have always wanted to work with adults so I get to work with materials and techniques that need more time and are too advanced to use with kids. I also want to prove that everyone can enjoy being creative and make something they are happy with. So far it works. After a Colourbuzz workshop everyone goes away with work they are proud of and pleased with!
