About the Course

The aim of the workshop is to help you achieve the maximum potential of your camera to shoot exciting close-up and macro images of a wide range of natural subjects such as flowers, lichens, insects and other invertebrates. We will be using various methods to achieve a wide range of close-ups. It will include general close-up photography in the field of subjects such as butterflies and dragonflies, as well as studio photography. Various light sources such as daylight, LED and flash will be discussed, as well as advanced techniques such as focus stacking. Whilst DSLR and mirrorless cameras are ideal for this, most camera types can be used to achieve brilliant results. As well as your own equipment plenty of extra equipment, such as different light sources and other equipment, will be available for participants to use.
