Confetti Chocolates - Workshop One – A Beginners Guide
Have you ever thought about working with chocolate? Come and join me on this 1-day discovery course where we will, together, cover basic techniques that will provide you with the confidence to create your own bespoke range of chocolate products.
Who should attend: Anyone with an interest in chocolate, either eating or creating bespoke works of art!
What the course covers:
This is an informative, practical hands on course for beginners incorporating the range of products below: -
• tempering theory and practical - pre-crystallisation methods: Seeding with callets and microwave tempering and a review of equipment and machinery
• chocolate truffles: hand rolled and dipped
• moulded chocolates with ganache fillings
• chocolate lollipops - demonstrating the use of transfer sheets
• chocolate decoration
The theory will cover the ideal working and storage environments plus shelf life considerations.
What to wear:
• comfortable working clothes and covered shoes
• you are more than welcome to bring your own full apron, but one will be provided
At the end of the course you will take home all your beautiful hand-crafted creations in a variety of chocolate packaging, for you and your family to enjoy.
Please note: if you have any gastro-intestinal upset prior to attending, you must be clear of symptoms 24 hours prior to the date of your course. If you are unable to attend your booked course for any reason, your course fee will be transferred to another, mutually agreed, date.

Where do I start, what a fantastic course. Margaret certainly knows her chocolate, she is patient, kind and great fun. I spent the whole day tempering, molding and making a variety of chocolates. Margaret is an excellent teacher, explaining step by step how to make them.
I am so glad I chose this course, at the end of the day I came away with mounds of handmade chocolates which I am very proud of, check out Margaret's facebook page for photos. My son asked when I was making more, when I asked of which type he listed each flavour as his favourite, so in other words all of them.

My friend and I travelled all the way from Scarborough to do this course and we weren't disappointed. We were welcomed with fruit toast and tea and then we were given an explanation of how the day would run. With only a handful of people undertaking the course at any one time, Margaret could keep an eye on all if us to ensure we were doing everything right. Lunch was delicious and then there was more tea and cake! The chocolates we made were delicious and looked very professional. They tasted better than some shop bought chocolates and my friends and family were surprised that I had made them. We learnt some simple techniques that we can do in our own kitchens in the future and brought away recipes and methods. I would highly recommend this course.

My children booked this course for me as a birthday present. What a lovely day. Margaret is so full of information and has created a brilliant, fun, busy (tho. relaxed), experience day. Lovely home made food and lots of cups of tea to keep you going. And the bonus is coming away with beautifully packaged parcels of the fruits of your labour, extending the experience as long as the chocolates last!!!

I attended this full day course making delicious chocolates and truffles at Confetti Chocolates today by Margaret Stephenson. Fantastically organised and had a lovely lunch along with tea, scones and cake throughout the whole day. To experience something I always wanted to do was brilliant and seeing the end results were amazing. Would recommend - a must do this! 5 stars!
From start to finish this course was fantastic. My friends and I have never laughed so much as we melted chocolate, cast moulds, made ganache and finally packaged our endeavours. Margaret was a star through out the day, really gelling with me and my girlfriends (birthday bash/treat for one of us). Would recommend Margaret's course to anyone with an interest in crafting or just for someone to see just how much effort goes into making hand made chocolates - which there is more too it then you would think. Attended this course because I am a chocoholic! WOW - what a day. Margaret put a lot of effort in making sure that we all had enough information, both written, verbal and hands on for us to get the basics of working with chocolate. We were looked after (me and 2 other ladies) from the very start of the day to the finish, and we all went home with some fantastic tasting and looking chocolates which we were able to display in several types of packaging.
I would recommend this course to anyone and everyone, not only from value for money, but also from the sheer joy that Margaret imbues when working with chocolate. Really looking forward to the development of her next course (which apparently has to be developed yet!)
