About the Course

‘Annie Sloan workshop’…

‘The Paint Kitchen’ and RAW Furniture will be hosting an Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Class at ‘Raw Furniture’ studio in Ribchester, Ribble Valley. The class is ideal for anyone who would like to know basic and intermediate techniques and skills in using Annie’s Chalk Paint and Waxes.

On the 3 hour course, we will firstly talk to you about the environmental benefits to painting furniture and then discuss how preparation and inspiration is key to creating the perfect finished painted piece. Next we will experiment on sample boards with paint layering, brush techniques, colour combinations, white washing, stencilling and frottage. We will then complete the boards by distressing with different grade sandpapers and then seal the paint with Clear Wax and use Dark Brown, Black and White Waxes, to create lovely aged patinas and to enhance textures. By the end of the class, you will go away with the knowledge and confidence to start your own painted piece at home, as-well as understanding how up-cycling is great for a more sustainable world.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

Patricia is a fantastic teacher and is incredibly knowledgeable about the craft. I've loved all of the workshops I've been to, especially the bring your own bit! There's yummy homemade cakes, Patricia is so accommodating for dietary requirements too, with some amazing vegan scones available last time!
