This workshop is ideal for anyone who would like to know basic and intermediate techniques and skills in using Annie’s Chalk Paint and Waxes.
I have been upcycling and restoring furniture for 10 years and I have been professionally trained by Annie Sloan down at Oxford HQ to host workshops and teach all there is to know regarding rejuvenating and upcycling your own furniture pieces.
On the 3 hour course, I will firstly talk to you about the environmental benefits to painting furniture and then discuss how preparation and inspiration is key to creating the perfect finished painted piece.
Next we will experiment on a sample board with paint layering, brush techniques, colour combinations, white washing, stencilling, and frottage.
We will then complete the boards by distressing with different grade sandpapers and then seal the paint with clear wax and use dark brown, black and white wax, to create lovely aged patinas and to enhance textures.
By the end of the class, you will go away with the knowledge and confidence to start your own painted piece at home, as-well as understanding how up-cycling is great for a more sustainable world.
