2 day workshop exploring worsted and woollen spinning

About the Course

COVID 19 restrictions
Due to the ongoing situation, we have decided to re-open following strict guidelines to maintain the health and comfort of everybody. More information will be given at the time of booking but please ask if you have any questions. I shall now only be able to accommodate two students for each workshop. Please follow the booking information below. Thank you.

How To Book. Due to the restrictions of COVID 19 at this time, you will need to email first to register your interest in the date. A strict order of enquiries will be maintained and a place will be reserved for 3 days during which time a booking form will be forwarded to you to secure your booking. If your preferred date is not available you will be offered the next available date. We believe this arrangement to be the easiest and most fair way to offer the limited dates and we look forward to hearing from you.

We would be delighted if you could join us. Just get in touch as places book up quickly. Other dates may be available so please just ask if the listed dates do not suit you.

If you are a hand spinner who like many, is a little unclear on the difference between worsted and woollen spinning then this two day workshop is for you. It has been designed to clarify and explore the differences between worsted and woollen spinning spending a full day on each.

You will have the opportunity to card and comb a variety of fleeces including our very own North Ronaldsay and Icelandic, to determine the most appropriate way of processing each. By the end of the workshop you will have at least two fabulous skeins of yarn to take home to knit, crochet or just admire!

All equipment is provided including spinning wheel if required, and sufficient wool to keep you spinning for both days. Refreshments of homemade cakes, biscuits, fresh fruit and drinks are also available.

Workshop spaces are limited to two people to ensure that I can offer sufficient time and attention to each, so do book early.

Please contact to check availability and to reserve your place.

If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

All equipment including spinning wheels. You may bring your own equipment (in good working order) if preferred. All refreshments on both days.
