"This was my first workshop with Sue. She was very welcoming, friendly. All the way through the day she was interesting and knowledgeable about her subject. I learnt most of the things I wanted and came home with a sample that I was proud of, and would continue to improve on. The cabin that we were in was full of Sues brilliant work which was encouraging. We were given lovely home made cake and lots of coffee to add to the fun day."

"I am not yet very confident with machine embroidery but Sue was so reassuring and encouraging that I was soon getting the hang of things. I had a great day experimenting with paint, colour, different fabrics and stitching techniques and went away with lots of ideas to work on. We were well-supplied with drinks and homemade cake and made to feel very comfortable in Sue's inspiring workshop. After the course, Sue sent us an email with a list of suppliers for the materials which we were using from her plentiful stocks; nothing seemed to be too much trouble."

"Sue Nicolls is a lovely lady and the course was just brilliant. It was informal, in a lovely setting and very informative. I learnt the basics of machine embroidery plus, I feel, some more intermediate techniques - certainly enough for me to now practice and experiment on my own. Apart from the practical elements, I also learnt about the sewing machine attachments/set up, threads, fabrics, equipment etc needed for machine embroidery with advice on where to purchase them from. I was very pleased with the work that I produced - Sue's help & guidance has given me confidence to expand on what I learnt. She certainly is one talented lady as her log cabin is full of her very creative and stunning pieces; and work in progress. It was also good to discuss a subject we are both very passionate about. I would certainly recommend Sue and her course/s. Her husband makes very good tea too!"

"Anyone who loves sewing and crafty things will fall in love with Sue's studio and all the bits and bobs she has there - let alone the marvellous display of her creative skills. And as for the course - it was fantastic. Sue is a great teacher - clear in her instructions and so patient and ready to help with advice. Through her I managed to overcome my fear of free motion machine embroidery and produce a lovely wreath which is proudly hanging in my sewing room prior to be on display for Christmas.
