If you are new to free motion machine embroidery this beginners' class is a good place to start. During this 4 hour class, I'll guide you through the basic skills to get you started on this absorbing technique.
You will start with a series of exercises to get you familiar with your sewing machine and try some different stitch techniques before moving on to try something more decorative.
By the end of the session, you will have a good knowledge of the process involved in free motion embroidery and something to take home with you.
My teaching style is relaxed which enables you to bring along your own ideas to work on or turn up and work on something on the day.
This class is also bookable on-demand as a one-to-one or group session (maximum 3 people). Please contact me to book a date or if you require further information.

What a lovely workshop. Date changed by myself without fuss or trouble. Sue was a very knowledgeable lady who was able to pass on her expertise with ease. I have come away with a sampler, which I am very happy with, and many ideas for future projects. I would highly recommend this workshop for all levels of sewers. Thank you for a great time Sue.

Thank you for your lovely review Pam it was a pleasure to teach you and your daughter. This was my first workshop with Sue. She was very welcoming, friendly. All the way through the day she was interesting and knowledgeable about her subject. I learnt most of the things I wanted and came home with a sample that I was proud of, and would continue to improve on. The cabin that we were in was full of Sues brilliant work which was encouraging. We were given lovely home made cake and lots of coffee to add to the fun day.
We had a fab time in the great care of Sue. The cabin is a delightful set up that inspires you as you create. Sue was very attentive and detailed when setting each task up. Her knowledge about the fabrics and threads was excellent and helpful. The handmade cake and rounds of tea/coffee just added to a lovely retreat feel workshop. Thank you Sue, I really do hope to come back!

Thank you for the lovely review Renate. It was a pleasure to teach you - look forward to seeing you again soon. This was my second workshop with Sue. She was helpful and encouraging as ever, particularly when I was having trouble with my 40 year old sewing machine. Sue makes sure everyone is making progress, intervening in a non-obtrusive way when things aren't going so well. I came away with a piece which I felt quite proud of and I was doubly pleased today to see it as an example of beginners' work on her website. Thanks for another great workshop.
