Maker's bio

In case we haven’t met before, I’m Jen Johnson and I run Sew Forest of Dean, teaching all aspects of sewing by machine or by hand. I’m also a crazy cat lady, wife to Ed and Mum to identical twins Oscar and Charlie. My workshops and courses take place in my purpose-built garden studio in Clearwell and my aim is very simple – to help get people sewing. My designs have been featured in British Patchwork and Quilting Magazine and I am qualified in Textiles, from Herefordshire Ludlow College.

Chris Roberts reviewed: Beginner's Quilting Day with Sew Forest of Dean

"This was definitely the best course that I have been on to date, and I’ve been on a lot. Jen made me feel relaxed immediately. She gave everyone the help and attention they needed. The day was well paced ensuring that we all came away with the knowledge and skills to finish our quilt at home. In addition there was delicious cake! I thoroughly recommend this course to everyone. Thanks Jen for a great day."

Rose Harding reviewed: Learn to Love your Sewing Machine

"Thoroughly enjoyed this course. Lovely environment, very relaxed. Learnt loads, so much better than ploughing through a manual by yourself and still not knowing what to do. Jennifer is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Plenty of refreshments and a lovely banana cake! Would highly recommend to anyone."

Sew Forest of Dean responded:

" Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review Rose. I'm really pleased that you enjoyed the day, you all did such a great job. Good luck with all your sewing projects and thanks again for your kind review. Best wishes, Jennifer"
