Kelly reviewed: Celtic Pattern, Geometry and Imagination

"Adam Tetlow's Integrating Celtic and Islamic Pattern course is completely accessible to the novice illustrator and reveals the hidden bridge between two seemingly different realms of pattern and design. The range of possibility that can be explored through the blending of these beautiful traditional arts is so inspiring! I greatly appreciate Adam, in all of his patience and good humour, as one of the few remaining teachers in this field of study and SAOG Studios for providing a peaceful and supportive space for the inquisitive artist!"

"It doesn't get better than having Adam Tetlow as your guide into the world of Celtic art while being in the beautiful surroundings of Forest Row. This two-day workshop about combining Celtic and Islamic patters was great. Thank you! We'll be back. Thanks again."

"I'm writing to tell you how much I enjoyed the workshop, what a treat to be immersed in celtic geometry and cosmic measure for three whole days. The learning environment there is really special and SAOG Studios is a joy to work in. I'm very much looking forward to further workshops with you. I really enjoyed working with Adam, and the experience was very much enriched by his depth and breadth of knowledge on the subject. I enjoyed everybody's contributions ... and I'm confident to get going on my own now ...' Kirt Holmes Nov. 2018 Celtic Pattern, Geometry and Imagination course participant"

"Absolutely loved this course; the teachers, venue and content were brilliant. My only complaint is that the day flew by too fast!! I'm very tempted to book your next 'Weaving the Cosmos' course so I can do it all again."

Tess Wakeling reviewed: Geometry of Morocco and Al-Andalus

"I had a wonderful time on the ‘Patterns of the Alhambra’ course with Daniel. It was a treat to have the five days to fully immerse ourselves in the patterns and meanings behind them. I found it fascinating to learn how these designs were constructed and make connections between patterns found in palaces, churches, mosques and celtic sites all over the world. Daniel would also regularly blow our minds with knowledge linking what we were drawing with our pencil and compass to the cosmos and the laws of the universe. We produced a lot of work over the week, and I even made one of the designs into ceramic tiles which were then fired and glazed. I have come away with a whole portfolio of designs which I will now continue to work on, as there are infinite possibilities in these patterns and how to multiply the tiles or add colour. I loved this course and hope to come back to the Scared Art of Geometry Studios again, Thankyou."

Darcy Cherry reviewed: Alchemy of Pigment and Pattern at SAOG Studios

"This course has been amazing in the depth and breadth of knowledge and practice. The pace, mood and tone was perfect and so enjoyable.I came primarily out of an interest in creating my own paints and exploring pattern, but was blown away by how all this has been rooted in the cosmos and philosophy of a much deeper spiritual exploration (which, as serendipity would have it, is also exactly what I had been looking for in my own art practice) ... I'm interested in all the SAOG courses. I want to do them all!"

Lynn Hanford-Day reviewed: Alchemy of Pigment and Pattern at SAOG Studios

"I found this course to be a very fulfilling. It was very rich. I love the mix of different practices, and the combination with geometry. I also enjoyed the mix of teachers. I always enjoy the mix with philosophy and poetry. I prefer this to some teachers who are primarily technicians and not connected to the soul of this practice ... There are lots of other SAOG courses that interest me! I'd love to do the one on labyrinths, and more on Moroccan and Persian Pattern."

"I enjoyed the course so much, it was full of joy, learning, fun, thoughts. The variety of experiences and lessons were just amazing ... your hospitality and kindness was remarkable. I feel like home, the studio is full of positive energy, I didn't feel how time passed by, if I didn't need to go to sleep, I would have spent 24/7 there!!!"

Patricia reviewed: Alchemy of Pigment and Pattern at SAOG Studios

"The course was simply amazing! I have tears of gratitude just thinking about all I have learned in only five days: meaning, beauty, open-heartedness, sacred act of creation, connection to all that is. I loved the balance of geometry/pattern and pigment making.Learning from Daniel, Vija, Hana and Adam was incredible. Masters in their fields. They openly share their knowledge and craftsmanship with the group.I learned more in five days than in three years of art at university! It is real, connected, practical, loved, and invokes the spirit of curiosity and fuels inspiration. Magical. Daniel was so kind in letting us use his studio, stay later, which was brilliant. I'd definitely like to attend more courses at SAOG Studios ..."
