"Had a fantastic day with one-to-one tuition on the course last Saturday. Slim is patient, he needed to be I was very slow! and supportive and I came away with new skills and a beautiful passort holder (for when I can go somewhere!) He even took the time to compile a bespoke 'starter kit' list for me. Slim is easy company and an excellent tutor I would strongly recommend his courses even if it means travelling to Scotland!"

"This was my first experience of leather craft and I came away with so many invaluable tips. Slim was excellent at teaching, very patient, polite and courteous. I did not feel rushed or under pressure at any point. It’s excellent value for money. This course has definitely built my confidence to be able experiment on my own. When I asked, Slim was so kind enough to put time aside to go through what to buy as a basic tool kit in order to get started with leather craft. "Being a complete novice and having spent too much time slashing the h*ll out leather scraps with my basic swivel knife I thought it best to get some tutoring. Slim is patient, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and very encouraging. I went feeling this craft was probably beyond me, based on my afore mentioned slashing techniques and came away with a fresh perspective and fully enthused to put in the effort and practice. A great day, relaxing atmosphere a fun host/tutor. Definitely Recommend."

"I've just completed a 2 day intensive carving and making course with Slim. He took a novice with a few self-taught skills to someone with the confidence to call himself a leather worker. I made a wallet with a Viking ship image and am "well chuffed" with the result. Slim is a great judge of when to offer advice and when to leave you to it. We came away from the course feeling confident in creating such products outside of the course. He also offered to help us should we have any questions after the course. "As an experienced leather worker I wanted to expand my repertoire and Slim did exactly that. He was extremely knowledgeable in his craft and aimed the training at just the right level. A challenging day as I picked his most difficult design to carve but well worth the effort. Thoroughly recommended to all levels of experience. Comes with the added bonus of lovely accommodation on site - you have to be quick to book up though as it is extremely busy all year round! Not to be missed"

"Can’t recommend this course highly enough - such an interesting & fabulous day. Made my gorgeous green spectacle case from scratch (apart from actually breeding the cow that the leather came from & making the leather). Cut the pattern & pieces for decoration, dyed it, made every hole for every stitch, sealed it etc. A very packed day of superb instruction by Slim & took intense concentration to get it right. Absolutely loved it. I would happily repeat it for the pleasure of creating again ❤️❤️ xxx ** I was going to give it as a present but after all the effort I put in ..... I want to frame it!!! Pardon the pun!"

"A warm welcome kicked off a great day. I walked in not knowing one end of a cow from another and left inspired to make a set of Louis Vuitton luggage. A very rewarding course covering a lot of hands on stuff. Slim is a brill teacher, no pressure, takes you through everything methodically at your own pace all coaxed along with plenty of tea and biscuits and a beautiful lunch. A very hospitable host.
