Great resources available and a lovely atmosphere in the studios above the Hope mill Theatre in Manchester. Small group of 4 of us and we really enjoyed ourselves. "A very well organised and well explained introduction to the copper foiling technique. We started with health and safety issues, then moved onto basic glass handling and various cutting methods. Then we experimented with cutting and Foiling a small design. During the afternoon we completed a larger piece. I felt that I had achieved something by the end and took home two very nice pieces with me. Sharon was very attentive throughout and quick to give advice. An excellent day!"

"I recently did the four week copper foiling evening class with Sharon at AWOL studios. First things first, before telling you how brilliant this course was (and it is) I should fess up that I have done three other courses with Sharon - a mosaic introduction and two stained glass panel courses. It's safe to say I think she's brilliant. Back to copper foiling - Sharon is knowledgeable and a wonderful teacher. The studio is set up excellently with very generous work space, and all materials were included in this course in the price. The amount of glass to choose from is amazing - no cheap shortcuts here, thank you! - and Sharon is always on hand to help with any design issues. I completed three pieces, a small practice sun catcher, a bird from Sharon's design collection plus a fox that I found online. I'm really pleased with all three, and I want to do another course in the New Year, timing permitting. If you're thinking about it, stop thinking and do it. You won't regret it. The two and a half hours flew by each Thursday and I felt a real glow of accomplishment. Course mates were brilliant and we all cheered each other on (I am still in awe of the rainbow star and the goldfinch). It's hard sometimes to mentally commit to an evening class; I felt the same. But each time, after I dragged myself out, I found myself happy and engaged and energised at the class. The fact that Sharon also provides tea and stellar choccy biscuits may have helped also.... I highly recommend any of Sharon's courses and this one in particular - I will be back for more."

"What a fabulous 2 days I spent on this course, it was brilliant! I started out as a complete beginner and at the end I had made a stained glass panel which I love. However, more importantly, I feel I now have the skills and confidence to tackle my own projects in the future. Sharon, our teacher was amazing. The whole course was taught in a lovely, relaxed, friendly manner. Everything was clearly explained and as there was only 4 of us on the course, Sharon was always on hand to assist and advise if necessary. At the end we all had very different panels to take home. I would not hesitate to recommend this course to anyone and would love to do another of Sharon's courses in the future."

"I have just been on this course and would recommend it to anyone who has the slightest bit of interest in stained glass. An excellent teacher, run in a friendly and encouraging environment, nothing is to much trouble for Sharon (the teacher). Every step expertly explained and genuinely delivered, help is given if needed but advise on how to do it yourself given first. If you are thinking of doing the class I would recommend it 100%. "This is the second course I have taken with the same tutor. So I came to this with a working knowledge of stained glass. But still it was engaging and informative. It started with the basics and at by the end of the session we had completed a nice little sun catcher. It wasn’t prescriptive so we have the option to make something we designed ourselves. It was a great course with a great tutor."

"I started off as a complete novice with Sharon and developed a real love for the medium as she guided me through challenging projects and encouraged my inner creativity. Over six sessions in two years I have completed a lampshade, three large panels, a candle holder and a small Victorian grid style panel in both lead and copper foil. The classes are always relaxing and social but Sharon keeps a good tempo so everyone walks away with completed projects at the end of term. Whether you're looking to explore the magic of stained glass, learn a new skill or switch off for 3 hours from your daily grind every Monday or Wednesday the course is great value. Highly recommended and I look forward to my next session!"
