We had the best time! Highly recommend Loam. The environment to work in is beautiful and Jack is a splendid teacher! We are addicted and will be back for more. Thank you!

My husband booked me up a morning taster session to try out pottery throwing for the first time.
I absolutely loved it, what a great location to start with and just a brilliant enjoyable morning. Jack makes you feel comfortable from the start and helps you achieve a recognisable pot by the end.
I am booking up a 10 week course and so looking forward to it. Thank you.

Great course! I have made baskets in the past but making a willow sculpture is very different and I thoroughly enjoyed learning a new craft and producing a chicken that now has pride of place in the garden.
Judith is very welcoming and a wonderful teacher.
Jack sent detailed information about the course and how to find the lovely venue, and provided us with a delicious lunch (vegan option was no problem at all).
I would definitely recommend it and plan to book another course with Judith in the future.

A wonderful introduction to throwing a pot!
The setting is easy to find, lots of parking and beautiful inside. It's a light and airy studio with excellent facilities.
Jack has a fantastic teaching style and is obviously a very skilled potter. He took great care to explain the process and then was always on hand, with tremendous encouragement and calmness, to help when required. It is also great value for £50, with my three little pots sent on to me after firing for a small p&p fee.
I really enjoyed this taster morning and would actively encourage anyone who fancies having a go to book with Jack.
I only wish I lived closer, I'd join a ten week course in a flash!

My husband and I were given the 2.5 hours pottery throwing vouchers by our son as a surprise '0' birthday present each combined with a wedding anniversary present. We didn't know what to expect and the afternoon being a surprise, we had no advance expectations. Jack was very welcoming (with ample cups of tea and coffee and a plate of chocolate brownies he couldn't go wrong) and explained the various stages of making a pot which we promptly forgot, but we relaxed during the process of moulding the clay which we found very therapeutic.
Jack then calmly took us through the process again as we made our first of three pots each which turned out better than we'd expected. Pot No.2 turned out better for me than the first so by the time I got to pot No. 3 I was feeling rather cocky and it was only Jack's miracle work proving what an expert he is, that saved it from disaster. He was very encouraging throughout, so although each of our pot shapes were completely unplanned, by the end of our session we'd had a great time and felt very pleased with ourselves.

My partner and I did the private pottery throwing lesson and would 10 out of 10 recommend. Jack is incredibly hands on, patient and his style of teaching is really easy to follow. The only downside is that it went too quickly! We could have happily spent all day in the studio. Having said that we’re both so happy to have left with 3 pots each that we love which is only thanks to Jack. Will definitely be returning to do the 10 week course.

Arranged this for a surprise birthday present for my wife. She loved it and we both had a great time. Jack is suitably patient and the outcome from two complete novices was surprisingly good. Would thoroughly recommend.

Booked the 2.5 hour lesson for myself and a friend as it sounded like a fun thing to do. We were right. Jack was exceptionally welcoming and really friendly. Making the pots sounded complex and complicated, I needed more help than my friend did! I need not have worried. Having Jack there to help and physically lend a hand to stop my wobbly pot from turning into a wreck was essential. At one stage my clay flew off the wheel and nearly hit poor Jack. (Sorry Jack!). His instructions are good and detailed, but I must have lost concentration and disaster struck on pot 3. Jack soon rectified the situation and got me back on track. The lesson started and finished exactly on time, you got what you paid for. Lovely refreshments and brownies too. Easy to find location, parking no problem. If you are considering this course, I'd encourage you to go for it. Have yet to collect our work, but we were both impressed by what we created on the day and are looking forward to seeing the finished articles. Thank you

I did a three hour stacking rings course with Jewellery Moves at Loam Ceramics and absolutely loved it. Fiona was patient and helpful, showed us how to make beautiful rings and I am so proud of the result. I would thoroughly recommend this workshop - it's great value for money, a really lovely relaxing venue and you get a top quality piece of jewellery at the end of it.

We booked an afternoon taster for 4 as a birthday present for a friend and all I can say is we had a great time! We were all complete beginner's and never trying anything like this before, but under Jack's excellent guidance and tuition we all turned out some amazing pots to be proud of. It was a lovely location, a light and airy studio and we were made to feel so welcome with drinks and sweet treats. We are looking into doing the two day weekend course in the future. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Lucy and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2.5 hr course and were very surprised and pleased with our 3 pots which turned out much better than we had thought they would!
This was due of course to our brilliant teacher, Jack, he was excellent at explaining what we had to do, patient and encouraging. Of course our natural talent played a part too!!
We are looking forward to collecting our finished products!
I would highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to try something new especially if like me, you were surprised at your results!! Thanks Jack!

I made a hammered ring and twisted ring at a workshop run by Fiona from Jewellery Moves at the wonderful, peaceful location of Loam Ceramics. Fiona is calm, patient and knowledgeable. She talked us through each stage of the process, all of us ending up with gorgeous rings that fit perfectly 💕 I would highly recommend one of her workshops ... it’s a really special experience. I’m looking forward to a bangle workshop soon! 😊

Had a really enjoyable morning. I was a total beginner. Jack was patient and his instructions and advice were very calm and clear. He was always close by to help when things went wrong, which was not too often! Watching a pot rise before my eyes was a very satisfying experience. I am looking forward to seeing my pots glazed and finished. Will certainly do more as I enjoyed it so much. Thank you Jack and thank you Laura who gave me the course as a present.

I booked an afternoon taster as I wanted to have a go at using a pottery wheel. I am very much a beginner but I found an excellent tutor in Jack. He was friendly, knowledgeable and both attentive and calm during the session. I was delighted to make three pots (a little wobbly) and am thinking about returning at some point for the ten week course.
I would definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed this course.
The studio is lovely and in a beautiful setting.
Jack and Judith were both very welcoming and looked after us all day.
I have never done anything of this nature before and was a bit apprehensive, but I have returned home with a chicken that I am proud to put in my garden.
I thoroughly recommend it for a fun day out with friends or family.
I will definitely return to try something else.
