"This was a Christmas gift from me to my mum and we attended together. What a lovely day! Comfortable surroundings, kind and patient tutors and a relaxed atmosphere. At a time where more people are seeking experiences rather than ‘things’ to give loved ones as gifts, this course and others like it are just brilliant for ensuring we put the time aside to spend with each other. "I had a great time learning pyrography and produced a nice piece of artwork. Sharon the tutor was so patient and very informative. I was inspired by her to buy a pyrography kit when I got home. You don’t need to be an artist nor a good drawer to do the class either. I’m looking at the Craft Barn for other classes now."

The instructor Kelly was very knowledgeable and made sure everyone understood the process each step of the way and also gave us tips on how we can keep practicing at home. Karen's craft barn has a lovely atmosphere (with tea and coffee available!) and a creative haven!"

"Sharon and Graham were the perfect teachers and provided concise tuition in selecting, cutting and grinding the glass, applying edging foil, soldering and finally polishing our two created ornaments. The location was warm and bright with plenty of room and we all came away with a feeling of accomplishment and pride with our finished pieces. I would definitely recommend this course."

"Hi I really enjoyed this course and Kelly was an excellent tutor. However, we were short of time in the afternoon so I felt the stitching process was rushed (for me, anyway) and I came away feeling a bit confused. We could have done with at least an extra hour to the published time. If we had had more time for the stitching and perhaps a handout with illustrations of the process stages I think I would have come away feeling more confident I could do it again. As it was I felt it was all easy to start with and then the bit that was the most complicated went in a blur. That was a shame as that was the bit I had most wanted to learn."

I have spoken with the tutor and unfortunately, on this occasion, the more straightforward stages earlier in the day and choosing papers took longer than usual which then put time pressure later in the day making the workshop overrun by an hour. We have taken your comments on board and have added extra time to the workshop should this ever happen again. We've also noted your comment about a handout. Hope to see you again Karen "

"I really enjoyed this course, Karen was a brilliantly patient teacher. We had the most beautiful Indian blocks for creating our designs, and then we made the most professional looking lampshades. Karen was very encouraging, and kept the tea and coffee flowing. This made for a very relaxing course in a lovely old barn."

"The course was really very enjoyable. The leader, Sharon, was very knowledgeable and took care to ensure that we were all doing well to proceed in the work needed to get the most from the day. I had some reservations as I had Arthritis in my fingers and was worried that the detailed working would cause my fingers to spasm. However there was no need as the pace was easy going and any problems sorted. All in all a very enjoyable and productive day - I will certainly try and carry on in stained glass work. Thank you for the course."
