Maker's bio

Although I graduated with a BA(Hons) in Fine Art (painting) from West Surrey College of Art and obtained an MA Fine Art (sculpture) from the Arts University Bournemouth, I have always enjoyed working with textiles and have done so for more than 45 years. I am a practising artist and exhibit regularly as a member of the salon group of Dorset Visual Arts, Wessex Contemporary Arts and Bruton Arts Society as well as in larger collective exhibitions.

"I loved this course! It was so inspiring. Imogen demonstrated techniques, showed us examples of her own and former students' work. I came back yesterday and have already got the sewing machine out today. Imogen was a great teacher, knowing when to leave us to have a go and when to give more direction. Everything we needed was provided, including a large variety of suitable fabrics. Spacious hall with plenty of room for each student. Good directions and lots of free parking. Also...tea and homemade cake! "

"Lovely day course with Imogen. A well organised and supplied amount of necessary materials. A process new to me explained well. Examples shown, to inspire ideas. Lots of encouragement. I would recommend this as a really useful method to any people interested in textiles. The haff and ammenities were perfect. Thank you Imogen. Brilliant!!"

"Imogen is a very talented artist and teacher. She has a gentle and patient approach which filled everyone in the workshop with confidence. I have taught art myself for 30 years so I know a good teacher when I see one. I particularly valued her extensive range of materials which she provided. I was also grateful for the choice of images she offered us for inspiration. A lovely day I highly recommend and will be doing another one during the course of the coming year. (Great cake too!) "
