Following an apprenticeship with the renowned woodsman Ben Law in 2012, Jack began a life of teaching & crafting things the old fashioned way. Bushcraft, Swedish carving techniques, green woodworking & ancient crafts. Jack's passion for these subjects is limitless & he enjoys nothing more than passing the knowledge and skills he has gained over years of learning onto others.

I loved this course and Jack is a brilliant teacher. By the end of the day I came away with one spoon and another in the making and a desire to buy the tools and get cracking on some more. The beginnings of a great hobby for life! He was thorough in teaching us how to handle the tools safely and guided us through each stage. No one was left behind and Jack was available for help at any moment with a watchful eye at all times yet allowing us to feel our own way at the same time.
Many thanks 🙏🏻 Jack for a wonderful creative day.

Thanks Jane! Glad you enjoyed it so much and hope to see you again on another one!The 1 day course from Fazey Woodcraft was brilliant!
Jack’s knowledge of wood and carving is huge and his approach to the course was perfect. Letting us learn our own mistakes but also helping at the right times so we didn’t ruin what we were making.
This workshop was a great thing to do. Carving is very therapeutic!
I would highly recommend this to anyone, even if they don’t consider themselves to be a practical person.
Response from Fazey Woodcraft:
Thanks Joel. 👍Jake was very clear, and explained things well, before we started. He watched us and helped us when we needed, and he was encouraging. I had never done anything like this before, and so was worried I'd get it all wrong, but learning the right way to do things was valuable.
I'm not sure how many spoons a person needs though, so I'm hoping to learn to carve other things once I get better at spoons.
Response from Fazey Woodcraft:
Thanks for the review Wendy.. and for the record you can never have enough spoons!Jack has something for everyone. I had a little experience carving spoons and my wife had none but we both learned a lot throughout the day. The course felt relaxed and we both felt like we got all the instruction we needed.
