Such a unique experience! I loved getting to make my own journal. I'm the type to buy pretty notebooks and never use them because they're too pretty, but this journal is special and makes me want to write in it constantly! Cass's instructions were helpful for someone who has never done bookbinding before. The live portion had different writing exercises that really helped get me in the zone for journalling. I loved the structure of the workshop and will definitely be using these exercises for my own journalling going forward!
Response from Airtily:Thank you, Nicole! It's fabulous to hear you're enjoying using your journal.
What a great workshop! I'm not the most artistic person and haven't made art since I was a child. I signed up for this workshop because I was looking for a new creative outlet and thought it could be fun to try collage, which I've never done before. The group was lovely and Julie made us all feel welcome. Her guidance and explanations were clear and helpful. I realised collage-making is not only fun and creative but also meditative. I loved ripping up newspapers, getting glue everywhere, and making a mess – it made me feel like a kid again!
Response from Airtily:Thank you, Nicole! I'm so glad you enjoyed the workshop.
This workshop was so much fun, I don't have the words to do it justice! With Julie's teachings, the group made and shared many portrait collages. It was a real opportunity for escapism and I was surprised, pleased and a wee bit disturbed (in a good way!) with my collages. I have already started collecting materials for the collage workshop in June on Surrealism and Silliness ... can't wait!
Response from Airtily:It's good to get a little silly every once in a while, isn't it? So glad you enjoyed the workshop, and I look forward to seeing you at Surrealism and Silliness.
I joined the Still Life with Flowers workshop in March and although I had no experience of painting since high school days, I was so very surprised with the painting I was able to produce with Julie's fantastic teaching and guidance. Being new to the area of arts and crafts, I did not have any materials at hand so I signed up with the option of receiving a kit containing what I would need. This arrived very promptly and I was impressed with the contents, they made me feel like a real artist before I have even begun! I have taken a total of three Airtily workshops now, and this one, as usual was friendly, fun, informative and made up of lovely people. I'm looking forward to the next Landscape painting workshop in June. It is actually on my wedding anniversary, but I have managed to make plans to celebrate around it!!!
Response from Airtily:Thank you so much, Rachel. It's so lovely to hear how much you enjoyed it!
I got so much enjoyment from this workshop and I was surprised and pleased with the collage I made. Prior to taking this workshop I had not done anything arty since I was made to at school, a long, long time ago, but I wanted to try something different now that I have more time on my hands. I was therefor a little nervous about joining this workshop, but I was immediately put at ease because Julie created a friendly, inclusive and supportive environment and the others taking the class were also lovely and supportive of each other. I actually enjoyed taking this workshop so much back in February, that I've signed up to do it again in May!
Response from Airtily:Thank you so much, Rachel! I'm so glad you enjoyed the workshop, and I look forward to seeing you again at the next one.
A really enjoyable course! I loved making the journal and Cass's video tutorials were clear and concise and broken down well into manageable sessions.
The live Zoom session was good and Julie gave me food for thought, steering me in the right direction and giving a purpose to journaling. I felt the session was pitching right and we could all get involved and contribute.
Response from Airtily:Thank you so much, Joanna. We both really appreciate your kind words, and are so glad you enjoyed the workshop. We look forward to seeing you again soon for the next one!
Such a fun class! After having only dabbled in acrylics many years ago it was a lot of fun to get back into it with Julie and the other students from across the pond (I’m in U.S.). Julie led us through the process step by step at a good pace for really anyone to be able to enjoy. It was exciting to see the final product from everyone, the class flew by and we all left with smiles and a masterpiece!
Response from Airtily:Thank you so much, Kim! So glad you enjoyed the workshop.
I loved doing this course. Julie generously shares her skills and tips, and the online resources you have access to are excellent. The course is suitable for both absolute beginners who want to get in touch with and develop their creative sides, and more experienced artists who want to use collage as a springboard to unlock ideas. I've been a practising artist for many years but recently had a creative block; collage has helped me to break thorough this. I can highly recommend this course.
Response from Airtily:Thank you! I'm so glad you found this course useful. Sometimes a diversion into a different medium is just what we need to get past a creative block.
What a lovely combination this course provided. Making the journal was a pleasure and I'm proud of the finished work. Cass's instruction videos are excellent, really clear and easy to follow. The zoom session with Julie and Cass was really enjoyable and gave me lots of ideas about how I could use the journal. A superb idea for a course. It would make a great Christmas or birthday gift for someone who likes to make things.
Response from Airtily:Thank you so much, Karen! We're glad you enjoyed this workshop.
Best course I’ve done online during these weird Covid times. Loved the combination of making something really lovely and the writing exercises which helped free up my locked down writing mind! Also really well constructed video tutorials. Well done Cass and Julie !
Response from Airtily:Thank you so much, Lynne. High praise indeed! I'm so pleased you enjoyed the workshop.
This course was really fun. I’ve struggled with my writing recently but this tapped into another sphere of creativity and allowed me to let loose with interesting materials - I kept coming back to words and literary references which was also nice. And a lovely bunch of people to share a couple of hours with !
Response from Airtily:Thank you so much, Lynne. I love that your creativity was sparked by trying out new materials!
Julie is a calming creative force who embraces where you are at in your art journey right now. Supporting the neat and neurotic to the expansive and chaotic, this collage course was exactly what I wanted it to be. I enjoyed the wide variety of participants in the course and learned to treasure my trash and unleash my creative forces. I'll be on the lookout for more courses by Julie.
Response from Airtily:Thank you so much. I'm so glad you enjoyed the workshop (and are now treasuring those envelopes!).
