Tina Evans reviewed: Lino printing landscapes

"As a complete novice to lino printing I didn’t know what to expect from the day but I was really delighted. Lee took our class of 6 gently through the process, working at our pace and giving encouragement every step of the way. The old school is a comfortable environment with log burners and plentiful tea and coffee. The day went very quickly and I was amazed at what we’d all achieved! I would recommend to anyone new to the process or wanting to learn more: you’re surrounded by Lee’s work and it’s very inspiring!"

Robin Oxley reviewed: Blacksmithing for Beginners - Full Day Forging for One

"An absolutely brilliant day forging! Perfect for both beginners and experienced smiths - Chris was brilliant, explains perfectly and correctly, shows every skill you could need and keeps a close eye on everything your doing. He also allows you to do your own bit and make things to a way you like. A perfect chance to create a individual piece of art. Safe and easy to find. No issues at all and well worth it. 5 STARS!!!"

Melanie Hobbs reviewed: Bookbinding using leather and marbled paper, Frome - Somerset. Private Tuition

"Had a lovely day and learned a lot. Stephen's knowledge of bookbinding techniques and antiquarian books is amazing. Worked on rescuing my Mum's old cookery book and will be going back to finish it and to start a new project. Loved seeing the work that Stephen was doing on restoring old books. All in all, a really good day, would definitely recommend it."

Peter reviewed: One-to-one woodcarving tuition (one day)

"I attended this course with my apprentice, to refresh my letter-carving skills. We both came away with a very good knowledge of carving many different lettering styles. Will is a gifted craftsman and talented and patient teacher, who tailored the workshop suit our needs and skills level. I was very impressed with the research and prep he had done prior to the day. All tools were extremely sharp, and the materials provided were excellent. The workshop is very well situated on the outskirts of Totnes, with great lunch facilities on the doorstep. I would highly recommend Will's courses."

"I did the one day glass-fusing course and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have done some glass fusing before but still learned lots from Jane. Ruth reviewed: DIY Leather Bag Kit - Cross Body Satchel to make at home

"I absolutely loved making this satchel bag! From start to finish everything was fabulous. The way Georgie packs the kits up is gorgeous, so it would make a beautiful gift for a crafty friend. The materials are very high quality, as are the instructions. You get both written instructions and a video, and the thing I found best of all is that Georgie is super helpful if you have questions during the process. Highly recommended from me!"

Frankie reviewed: Seaglass jewellery workshop at Sea & Solder, Dorset.

"My partner bought me this experience for Christmas and I didn’t know how much I wanted to do it until I experienced it! Juels was lovely, very warming and easy going. I had never worked with silver before so I was slightly nervous but a relaxed environment, good coffee and an excellent teacher resulted in my first of many silver pieces. I had no idea what would come of the day and didn’t believe I could make a piece of wearable jewellery, but I now get endless comments on my bangle and it never comes off. Lots of laughter, a strong supply of oat milk and knowledge to last a lifetime, plus my beautiful handmade seaglass bangle. A huge thank you for sharing your skills ?"

Sea & Solder responded:

"Frankie it's great to hear your bangle hasn't come off and you have had lots of lovely comments. Well done on creating this lovely piece of jewellery. It was lovely to meet you and see you create such a unique piece on the day."
