Angie Weston reviewed: Sculpture workshop two days with Jo Garden Art in beautiful rural Norfolk/Suffolk border setting

"Another brilliant two day workshop with Jo. This time making a running hare to join my leaping hare. Jo is such a brilliant tutor and makes everyone feel relaxed from the moment they arrive. Working on a sculpture is so therapeutic in such a calm environment. Not forgetting Andy (Jo's husband) who makes the armatures from which the sculptures are formed and take on a life of their own. I would highly recommend either the one or two day courses as no previous experience is necessary. Thank you Jo!"

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Angie It was fabulous having you back in the studio to create a companion to your original large leaping hare made last year. I look forward to seeing a photo of them together! Don't hesitate to make contact if you have any questions before applying the rust finish to your original hare using the products I supplied. It is a great effect! Jo xx"

Nicola reviewed: Sculpture workshop two days with Jo Garden Art in beautiful rural Norfolk/Suffolk border setting

"Having done a one day workshop with Jo I could't wait to return to do the 2 day workshop. It was every bit as enjoyable and again I have returned home with a piece of sculpture to be proud of. The timings over the two days have been carefully planned by Jo so at no time did I feel hurried but rather could happily immerse myself in the creative process - thanks Jo!! I would definitely recommend this 5* experience."

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Nicola Your creative process produced a wonderful large owl - well done! We achieve such a lot during the two days, but I'm glad you did not feel rushed. Hope to see you back again! Jo x"

Penny reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"The lovely tranquil setting and delightfully relaxed atmosphere of Sebastian's workshop soon put me at ease, despite having absolutely no idea of how to begin creating my sculpture. Sebastian provides just the right balance between instruction/assistance/encouragement at whatever level is needed (lots of all three in my case!). I ended up going home with a sculpture I was very pleased with, having had a most enjoyable and rewarding weekend. I would thoroughly recommend this course,"

Mo Brown reviewed: Creating automata - weekend course. Explore the combination of movement and materials such as wood, wire, metal tube and sheet, found objects and figures.

"Well that was great - rummaging through collections of old tins, strange bits of machinery and all kinds of oddments for pieces to make our creations individual and fabulous! Fi shared her know-how and demonstrated the mechanisms. She showed us how to use the tools and patiently sorted any glitches. It was a really enjoyable, relaxed weekend in well equipped workshops with friendly people. I am very pleased with what I achieved and my automata will remind me of a happy time."

Nailsworth Community Workshop responded:

"Thank you Mo for your review and Im so glad you had a good weekend. Lovely to hear that you enjoyed making some new . Ive sent a copy of what you said along to Fi too Best wishes Pam "

Jim Bamford reviewed: 3 hour Silver jewellery course

"I bought this course as present for my wife, we both loved it and under Richards expert guidance came away with a matching pair of silver rings that we cannot believe we actually managed to make ourselves. Richard and his wife were very welcoming, Richard coached us through the ring making with patience and great depth of knowledge. I cannot recommend this course highly enough. "

Bee Strachan reviewed: Silver jewellery making class for beginners

"I really enjoyed the jewellery making course with Saltway Silver. I was a complete beginner but was still able to leave with several pieces of jewellery made from copper and silver. The workshop was well equipped and caters for beginners like me and more experienced jewellery makers. It was a busy day but we still managed to break for tea /coffee and homemade cake. I was amazed how much I learned and produced. "

Salt Way Silver responded:

"It was a great day Bee, and you did very well with your jewellery making - it can be quite challenging - but you persevered. Well done! Thank you for choosing Salt Way Silver, and you are always welcome back. Jonathan"

Charmain reviewed: 'Bluebell Woods' Acrylic Painting Workshop with Sue Gardner

"Throughly enjoyed my Highland Cow Painting day with Sue. I haven’t painted before and was amazed at the result. Sue guided us step by step through the process whilst allowing for and encouraging our individual style. We had lots of time, it was very relaxed, with a superb lunch and gorgeous homemade cake. It was a really lovely day out and a treat not to have to clock watch but just get lost in the process. I’d highly recommend it, even if you haven’t painted before. I thought it was excellent value for money. "

Ela Myszek reviewed: Creating automata - weekend course. Explore the combination of movement and materials such as wood, wire, metal tube and sheet, found objects and figures.

"Two days spent discovering the absolute joy of creating automata. It was a real pleasure to meet Fi Henshall, our tutor, and the community workshop team were so welcoming. The course itself was detailed enough for people who had some art/ crafting/ automaton making experience, but also allowed complete newbies like myself to learn without feeling over-faced. And Fi was a patient, knowledgeable and friendly presence, problem-solving, teaching, chivvying and encouraging. I came away with my head buzzing with ideas. Thank you to all."

Nailsworth Community Workshop responded:

"Hello there and thank you for taking the time to give us the review. Im so glad you had a good weekend and found it inspiring. Ive shown your review to Fi and she was really touched All the best Pam "

"We had an absolutely great day! Really enjoyed making my own knife and seeing it go from a piece of steel to a full crafted knife. Graham, David and Decklan were brilliant, explaining everything clearly and always there when help and support was needed and they trusted us to get on with it independently when we didn’t. Highly highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun day out. Will definitely be returning for the 2 day Axe course. Thank you guys! "
