Wire and haberdashery jewellery workshop

Upcycle vintage haberdashery into elegant wire jewellery with Judith Brown in Staffordshire

Transform vintage sewing box treasures into elegant jewellery. I’ll teach you how to make a necklace and matching earrings using wire, upcycled haberdashery, glass beads and my wire stitching technique.

If the advertised date doesn't suit, do get in touch to discuss alternative dates.

Safety and hygiene measures are in place to keep us all safe from Covid 19 which are available after booking.

First we’ll practice stitching with wire and then we will go on to make finished pieces, you can expect to make something similar to the jewellery pictured, though the bead drops on these designs are optional. We’ll finish the jewellery with sterling silver findings and chain, which can be oxidised, as shown here, or left shiny if you prefer. Materials are included, and include one sterling silver 18 inch chain and one pair of sterling silver hooks, additional findings can also be bought on the day so you can finish any extra designs you make too.

Judith runs workshops from a room in the building where her studio is located, which also houses a fabulous cafe that provides the delicious homemade food and drink. You can also visit Judith's jewellery studio on the day.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

Tea with homemade cake from the cafe below the studio.

In-person course
Annalisa Barbaglia - - #31245

As the proud owner of one of the original pieces made by Judith in this style with haberdashery hooks, I was very excited to find the course at the beginning of 2020. The current circumstances meant that the actual date had to be delayed a lot, however Judith was extremely helpful and clear in her communications and I always felt like I could rely on the course happening as soon as it was safe to do so.

This expectation was fulfilled; I felt perfectly safe on the day thanks to the safety measures in place, and the course itself was very enjoyable and useful - Judith is a very patient and careful teacher, and I now have two pairs of earrings I can wear with my original necklace! The venue and the cake were also excellent. Highly recommended for a different day out, and for a course that leaves you with actual wearable pieces by the end. Thank you Judith!

Response from Judith Brown Jewellery:

I hope you enjoy wearing your earrings, and thanks for being so patient with the dates of the workshop moving due to Covid.
