About the Course

Make a Willow Animal sculpture of your choice. Whilst learning Sculpting Techniques you will create a 3D interpretation of your chosen animal. It's great to come along with an ideal of the animal you would like to create; common wildlife is always popular!

Willow artist and experienced tutor Sarah Le Breton will teach you sculpting techniques and how to maintain your finished creations, enabling your work to add charm to your garden for years to come.

All Willow Sculpture Days are suitable for beginners and for those with existing willow weaving experience. Just bring along lots of enthusiasm and by the end of the day you will be taking home a willow creation of your chosen animal!

These Willow Sculpture Days are taught at Coates English Willow, situated at the heart of this country's willow growing industry on the beautiful Somerset Levels. Coates has been growing willow in the Somerset Levels since 1819. On site is the Wetlands & Willows Visitor Centre with a museum, gallery, shop and tea rooms.

For previous attendee testimonials please click on the Gallery tab on the Courses page on Sarah's website.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. The voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

Price includes refreshments and cake, all materials and a backstage tour of Coates. Lunch is available at an additional cost at the adjacent Lemon Tree Coffee House. There is a maximum of 8 participants per day. Sculpture Days are held in the indoor heated Classroom or Basket Making Workshop.

All tools are provided, but you are more than welcome to bring along your favourite pair of secateurs and gardening gloves. Please also bring an apron or wear clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting a little mucky!
