The workshops begin at 10.00am, with tea or coffee and goodies and a brief chat and look through some work made by David using the lost wax casting technique. This is followed by a talk and demonstration on how to create your ring or pendant using the variety of hand and machine tools with the appropriate waxes. Students begin by sketching out the design for their piece and are then given some wax to work with.
As the day progresses you break for lunch whenever you wish and carry on refining your work until you are done. The workshops conclude at 4.00pm, but if needs be extend through to when each student finishes their wax carving.
Once your piece us finished David will send it off for casting in sterling silver and then you can either return yourself at an agreed date to refine the cast piece or David will finish it off for you and post it on.
There are only ever a maximum of two students on this workshops.
Refunds are not available on this booking. Start dates may be amended on request.
The cost of the workshop includes the use of all tools, wax and the sterling silver cast up to a certain size. If students really excel during the day and wish to create more that one piece of jewellery they are very welcome to at an agreed additional cost.
