Description

Set in a truly idyllic Somerset valley, Lapwing Farm will not only be your home for the day, but also an inspiration for your artwork on this wonderful workshop with Zara Emily. Guiding you through the fascinating medium of screen printing, Zara will show you a range of samples from her own collection before moving the workshop outdoors to explore the grounds at Lapwing. You’ll be researching imagery by taking photos, or sketching, to generate ideas that will be made into a design for your screen prints. Back in the workshop Zara will guide you through the process of translating your images and ideas in to designs perfect for a paper cut stencil and to screen print. Once your design is ready to go, you’ll then create the perfect colour mix to screen print on to a tote bag. You will be shown how to create multiple layers and also how to print in registrations. Rest assured you’ll be well looked after during your visit, with refreshments provided throughout and a delicious 2-course lunch made using fresh, seasonal ingredients, many of which are sourced from the abundance of wonderful farms and suppliers in the Somerset region. Zara will guide you through the process at each stage throughout the day, so no experience is needed!
