Description

Due to Covid have had to make changes to protect my family and students:
- Student will need to bring own food and drink.
- Hall doors and windows will be open.
- Maximum of Three in group for individual bookings

Draw and write with fire - Pyrography workshop with Graham Turner Wood Turner.

The event is part of Hampshire Open Studios, there will be three well known local artists Shaun Stevens, Tessa van Hasselt, Sue Page and myself (Graham Turner) with a display of wood turning, so there is plenty to see.

Open to all ages (12 - 80+), there are three places in each workshop.

All material is included, mixture of Birch Wood ply (easier for beginners) and some local sourced new forest wood (Keyrings, Bookmarks, Other?)

If you wish to bring your own piece of wood as you wish to make a house sign or other large item then you are free to do so. The working surface needs to be planned and sanded for best results.

There will be one workshop sessions per day (10:30am->3:30) max group size 3 in each workshop.

Each workshop includes guidance on transferring designs onto the wood, as well as advice on lettering and drawing a pencil guideline directly on to the surface. No artistic skills necessary as a choice of designs for all ages and ability will be available, however feel free to bring your own designs with you.

We will have plenty of ideas on hand, however please feel free to bring your own designs. You may like to look up “Pyrography ideas” or “Zen drawing patterns” on the internet for ideas that you could use.

If there is something specific that you would like to do then please ask before the course and I will do my best to accommodate.

For more information, please contact me via my email at the contact form above.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

Worth doing a whole day as you become more confident as the day goes on. Graham was great, there was no pressure and he offered advice when asked.

What an outstanding day! Relaxed and informal, yet inspirational and supportive - what an amazing teacher. Still can't believe we beginners produced such lovely work. Everyone should try this.

The four of us had a fabulous morning using our imagination and drawing with fire. What a great idea , to showcase what can be done. We gave this course as a present to my brother and sister in laws for Christmas .
Graham is really patient and provides plenty of pieces of wood and inspiration - as well as excellent biscuits and coffee to keep us all going !
