Join tutor Sue Tilbury in painting a portrait of the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo using your own patterns and designs in beautiful bold vibrant colours. What could make you happier! You can also substitute Frida’s face with your own self portrait if you prefer, dressed in Frida’s multi coloured style! We will begin with a demonstration on how to structure a portrait, colour mixing and paint application. You will have expert guidance in planning your portrait, choosing the right composition and the use of complimentary colours for your finished piece. All references are supplied. What to bring: 4b pencil, rubber and putty rubber Palette knife size 22 or similar Canvas paper or canvas board 12” x 16” (30 x 40cms) Selection of flat, synthetic brushes in a range from 4 - 12 One small round brush size 2, for detailed work Oil painters will need Liquin original painting medium and sansoder or zest it low odour thinners Rags or baby wipes (biodegradable) Paper tear off palette pad for oil or acrylics Fine mist spray for acrylics Paint to bring (either oil or acrylic) Cadmium Red Cadmium yellow Ultramarine Blue Titanium white Cerulean blue Permanent Rose Raw Umber Art Suppliers: Jacksons Art supplies CassArt

If you share any photographs of your day here and/or your finished work, we’d love to see them so please tag us. Terms - If, having booked, you cancel your booking, we are unable to offer a refund. However, you may nominate someone else to attend the workshop or class in your place by notifying us using the contact page on the Micklems Farm website. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the workshop date. We will only cancel due to insufficient places sold and you will be refunded the full amount paid.
